Well, I at least recognise the poem it's referencing, even if I haven't a clue about the actual clue!

I didn't know the poem. The lemur and I teased it out element by element.

Irritatingly, I can't remember the name of the chap, though I can remember snatches of his one on Voltaire. I can remember the name of the Welsh poet who wrote similar stuff, but not this one. Drat.

It's good, isn't it?! I've just been doing the crossword and recognised it almost immediately, being fond of clerihews.

I worked out what the first two words had to be (given the answers to the referenced clues), guessed at the third word, and then the poem rang a bell!
