It's really very odd. Australian rugby commentators are absolutely appalling; loud, one sided and ignorant. They make Brian Moore look good. On the other hand the cricket commentary team on Fox Sports is exemplary; thoughtful, fair and knowledgeable. Which Australian commentary are you getting? Fox Sports or Channel 7? The Fox Sports commentators (who i belive are picked up by Sky) are god awful while those on Channel 7 (Gordon Bray, Dan Crowley and Tim Horan) aren't bad.

That sounds about right. I often see the English on RugbyRefs.com complaining about Aussie Commentators but Sky only picks up the Fox Sports feed so they don't know what they're missing. On a side note, it is somewhat amusing that the free to air channel here has better commentators than the pay TV guys.
