Taken by Surprise
It's been so long since I last played the Wells family, and I forgot just how cute they are! Let's visit with Lucy Wells and her family, shall we?
Just to give a quick re-introduction to this little family since it's been awhile. This is Lucy Wells, made by engram_au. She moved to Little Hollywick on simday 22 at the start of week 4. She's a pleasure/popularity sim and she wants to become a video game designer, although she is a very accomplished seamstress and opened up a really cool clothing store when she first moved to town.
Lucy started dating elder townie Serdar Creelman on simday 25, right after she had a short fling with none other than Clay Peshterianu. Serdar is a romance/family sim, and although the couple have been very much in love for the last 11 years there's still no word of a wedding. They have been perfectly content just living together without all the labels that most people put on relationships, although Serdar is getting up there in age and he started having thoughts of proposing to Lucy during week 5.
Lucy and Serdar welcomed their first child, Russell Wells, on simday 32. Serdar never thought he'd have any kids of his own, since he didn't settle down until well into his elder years. But they are thrilled to have a son, and Russell is just the sweetest boy in the world. I mean, do you see those chubby cheeks?!
And then there's the Wells' cat, Cashmere, who completes the little family. Lucy fell in love with and bought Cashmere from the Clock family pet store on Main Street. They've been an inseparable duo ever since.
Lucy loves to sew, but she's always dreamt of breaking into the video game industry. She'd love to be a top game designer, and she even got an entry level job as a Trash Talker. But sweet Lucy isn't mean enough to talk trash to people, and so she was fired after only 1 year on the job (failed chance card, doh!).
So she's back at the Sew Pretty Boutique again full time until she can find another job in the gaming industry. That's the clothing store that she owns and operates.
Lucy's clothing shop is a very popular place and they are always busy. Lucy has 2 salespeople and 1 re-stocker under her employ. Ella Clock used to work for Lucy as a cashier, but she had to quit when she went off to college. Serdar used to help with the sewing, but now he has to fill in as cashier until Lucy finds a replacement for Ella.
And then Lucy found Susie Dingle. Susie is Ella Clock's best friend, and Ella gave her a great recommendation. So even though Susie has never had any experience or training as a cashier, Lucy gives her a chance. She's not anywhere near as fast as Ella was, but she'll learn. The only downside is that Susie will be graduating from high school soon and will most likely have to quit as well.
The only bad part of the store is the elevator. It is constantly breaking down and Lucy spends a fortune on repair bills. She thought she'd save some money by having Serdar try to fix it, but that didn't work out so well. At least Serdar was too busy being shocked to hear the giggles coming from his very loving girlfriend!
Lucy ends up having to take some time off from working altogether, because she finds out that she is pregnant again! The couple was definitely not planning on having another baby, but these things happen. They're excited about it anyway!
Lucy takes her maternity leave as an opportunity to make some things for the nursery, and also to build up some more inventory for her boutique.
Pretty soon she's as big as a house, and it gets harder and harder for her to do simple every day things like take care Russell or even just fit through doorways!
And then the big moment arrives! As you can see, Serdar is so excited that he just can't control himself, while Cashmere takes the opportunity to eat off the countertops while her masters attention is on something else!
The Wells welcome another son, baby Derek, on simday 39! He looks just like his mommy and big brother with dark skin, brown hair and blue eyes.
The oldest Wells boy, Russell, has his childhood birthday on the same day that his little brother is born. He keeps those chubby cheeks which come from Serdar, and is just as handsome as ever.
Serdar tries really hard to be an active part of his kids' lives since he probably won't be around long enough to see them grow up all the way and have kids of their own.
The baby days fly by, and we soon find out that Derek is an exact clone of his big brother, Russell. Those cheeks still get me!
Derek gets plenty of attention even though his parents are so busy with work and home life. He's probably their last child, so Lucy and Serdar really take the time to enjoy their little guys.
Lucy and Serdar make it a point to have family meals. They don't go into the boutique until after Russell is off to school, and they have a nanny stay home with Derek during their work days.
Nearing the end of his life, Serdar finally decides to ask Lucy to marry him on the last day of this week! Lucy is completely taken by surprise, but happily accepts. The happy couple are planning a very small and quiet wedding which will take place on simday 43 at the beginning of week 7.
The neighbors are happy to hear that Lucy and Serdar are finally going to make it official. Stephen Clock begs for an invitation to the wedding even though he's not really very close to the Wells', but Harvey Dingle sees this as an opportunity to wreak a little bit of havoc at a big event like a wedding. He is an evil warlock after all!

Gameplay Notes:
--So Russell and Derek are exact clones. I was very sad to see that. If I have to have yet another boy in this town, I'd at least like him to be a new one!
--Serdar has had the want to get engaged to Lucy since the middle of week 5. I was hoping she'd roll the want as well, but she never did. However, since it's usually the man that proposes, I figured Lucy could just turn him down if she really didn't want to! But I'm glad they're finally going to get married, even though Serdar really is only 4 or 5 days away from meeting ol' Grimmy.
--I haven't even started shooting the pictures from the prom, which is next on my update list. And with Christmas coming up this weekend (we're leaving town on Wednesday night), I doubt I'll have that update ready until after Christmas.
