My first hair retexture!

So I do not have a real update for you today...I've spent most of the day at the park with my hubs and our son, followed by a late lunch at Steak n' Shake (mmm, milkshakes!), and now I have to start on our early Valentine's Day dinner. However, I did fiddle around with hair retexturing yesterday so I can at least show you what I've done so far!

I really haven't found any Maxis-matchy hairs that I really love, so I figured I'd try my hand at making some. I looked around for some textures that I could steal, but I didn't really see any that were just what I wanted. So, I took one of Maxis' original hair textures and edited them to my liking. Then I gave the actual retexturing part a try. I chose Peggy mesh #003983 because it looked like a pretty simple and straightforward mesh for my first time.

I'm pretty happy with how they turned out! These pictures were not lightened in photoshop at all...but the sims do have a spotlight on them in game. So what you see is exactly how it looks in game! I'm very pleased with my first attempt at retexturing! As you can see, I did all 4 Maxis colors and also toddler through adult for each color. For some reason, this mesh did not come with one for the elders. At least, the one I downloaded does not have it for elders...maybe there's one out there somewhere?

Next I'm going to learn how to bin these colors correctly and compress them. Then I'll try these textures on some other meshes to make sure this wasn't a fluke! Heehee.

Update: Turns out it wasn't that hard to learn how to properly bin and compress the files! So all of the colors are now binned and compressed (which saved 1 whole MB of space!).
