Well, that's creepy. Really? Really? I get that it's not my ship, but wow, that is a creepy end to a relationship. Was that Topher's idea? CREEPY IDEA, TOPHER. THIS MERITS THE "sketchy show is sketchy" TAG.
What exactly happened? Was the hard drive both Caroline AND Paul's personality that Echo downloaded into herself? I was confused...
"Victor! Why would someone do something so awful to your face?"
That literally made me LOL! Oh, Alan Tudyk! ♥ It's really amazing to see that Alpha evolved and handled his multiple personalities the same way Echo did. Very neat twist.
...I am slightly insensitive here because I've never felt Paul/Echo. Or Paul/Caroline.
Me either, but I gotta say that was some good acting from Eliza. Or at least, I was impressed.
Aww, Tony/Priya/T. ♥♥♥YAY! I was sure Joss was going to kill one of them after Tony reconciled with his son, but I'm really happy he didn't
( ... )
I kind of assumed it was just Paul's personality? And she merged it like she merges...every imprint? IDK. It's possible it was both Caroline and Paul on one wedge. Whatever it was, it was sketchy and evoked an "ew" reaction in me.
Alan Tudyk is amazing. I love him sfm.
I know! I was so convinced one or more of them were not going to survive the episode, because it's Joss, and then THEY ALL DID AND WERE HAPPY. Thank you for your mercy, Joss.
Right, Paul added to Echo's personalities. For some reason, I always thought Caroline would go back in her body. Just because it seems terribly unfair that it doesn't (not fully, anyway).
THEY ALL DID AND WERE HAPPY. Thank you for your mercy, Joss.
Indeed!
(Also, did you not LOVE the last thing Topher said before he died? He said "Huh" in reference to the "To Remember" Wall and it was just SO in keeping with his curious character and it was just lovely to see how it was still HIM deep down inside that madness. GUH. Just total love. ♥)
So I guess it's time I caught up on this huh? I honestly didn't see past the first episode of this season. Was without cable for two months and by the time I got it back I was too behind to catch up.
Gah...if only I weren't terrified of torrents I'd download them...guess I gotta do this the hard and kinda scrambled way.
The finale was amazing and an amazing follow-up to Epitaph two, but it didn't quite fix the things that they broke in the last two eps. (I'm going to hold that grudge forever. I wanted Boyd with them on this journey.) BUT for what it was. I couldn't have asked for a better finale to be honest.
I don't think Topher had seen the To Remember thing, so it was just interest. And adorable. And he died with a smile on his face omfg.
Wasn't the Paul wedge Alpha's idea? I think Adelle or someone said to Echo to clean up, and that Alpha said to start with the chair. (I theorise that Alpha getting the ever righteous Paul in his head was a start towards sanity. And, yanno, he also has Paul in his head, so he figures... Echo.. might want that?)
I was a sobbing mess of tears and snot. And I almost never cry at stuff like this. It's ridiculous, what that ending did to be.
But so beautiful. It feels done. Completed. And that's good. There's so many more stories they could tell, (and I want to know what happened to Claire) but overall, it was wonderful.
Ooh, that makes sense. I had for some reason assumed that he was aware of its existence but some specific bit of it caught his interest? But that he'd never seen it before makes way more sense.
And yes. Adorable. <3 And heartbreaking, omg.
Wasn't the Paul wedge Alpha's idea?
Entirely possible. ...I need to rewatch this episode but I don't know if I'm up to it. But that makes sense, although it doesn't really make it less sketchy.
It was really, really heartbreaking! And, you're right, it feels completed, a good solid series finale -- there are a lot of stories left untold in the Dollhouse 'verse, but this particular story has been drawn to its close.
I've been rewatching large bits of it (it's how I process and deal with it).
I'm sorta guessing he probably hadn't been up there. Like.. why WOULD he have been? And when did they get the pics there? And it looked like he didn't know what it was.
Someone said how sad and wonderful it was, that his last thought and action was one of simple, child-like curiosity, because it's such a big part of who he is. "If I think I can figure things out, is that curiosity or arrogance?" And then just a smile.
It WAS Alpha's idea, I went back and checked.
And... You know, I kinda like it? It's not a perfect happy ending, but it's something. He's not GONE. It doesn't sketch me out, I dunno.
There's so many things and people I want to know how got there, what happened in between, where's Claire -- I want to see all their journeys. But I also think this is the best they could've given us under the circumstances.

It was really just so incredibly perfect. And heartrending, but heartrending in that incredibly perfect way. Er. I mean, Topher encapsulated in the briefest of moments there, and it was lovely, and it broke my heart.
...I'm still sketched out by it. :/ But again, I have no investment in Paul at all, so that's probably coloring my opinion.
This was such a fantastic episode and such a great way to end the series. I cried, I actually cried! And that's something that only happened once with Joss's stuff (when Wash died). So yeah, this episode totally got to me emotionally, which is great.
Totally wasn't really invested in the Paul/Echo relationship, so I couldn't have given a crap about him, but seeing him shot so suddenly shocked me. And I teared up a little when Echo was bringing her own issues into the conversation. But that scene btwn Paul and Echo inside her head...that was just weird.
So much love for Topher, omg. He was just so heartbreaking to watch. He reminded me of River, except broken in a different way. He was perfect in this episode.
Alpha definitely needed more screen time. I'm glad he's not a psycho anymore, but it's a shame we didn't see him arguing with himself. I always thought that was amusing.
I am super glad Tony and Priya didn't die. I thought they would end up dead or wiped and not remember their son, but thank god the writer's had mercy on us

I missed Boyd and Whiskey/Claire, too. :(

This is a basic truth of the universe. <3
