So, here's how it works. Name a character from one of the fandoms listed below. I will produce no fewer than 100 words on why I love, hate, or am indifferent to that character

01. Dylan. Why do I hate Dylan? Let me count the ways. Right from the beginning Kevin Sorbo's portrayal struck an ill chord with me, and after Robert left the writing agreed with Kevin. Dylan's smarmy and self-righteous, he cares about saving the universe as a whole but no the individual people on his ship; he sluts it up with nearly every woman who sets foot on the Andromeda and doesn't understand why that just might be inappropriate. Even when she's mentally unstable and a probable murderer, the captain's sexual needs are more important. I've never forgiven him for what happened on Earth in Bunker Hill, especially: he started a revolution based on his promise, put it on a ridiculous timetable, fucked it up, and then just didn't care - about Earth, about Harper, about any of it. And then he went and turned into a god figure who totally ignored the people who made his successes possible, and ew. Bastard

17. Trapper John. I do love Trapper. Not nearly as much as I love his replacement BJ, but I do love him. He's charming and funny and capable of extreme sweetness. He obviously adores his daughters, and I wish he'd gotten to adopt Kim, the little Korean boy who ran into minefields. I love that he made Radar kiss Hawkeye goodbye for him, and I gotta admit the boy is built. I hate that he cheated on his wife so casually, but he did love her, and he made that obvious more than once, so I forgive him 'cause he's fictional. Plus, he once hit Hawkeye with a duffel bag full of stuff and knocked him unconscious. Props to the boy. I love him

What is there not to love about Captain Jack?! He's dashing and romantic and completely unashamed of being a total slut. He had me from "You've got a great bum, too" and was the first to make me okay with shipping the Doctor with a human. Despite the vast differences in format (and personality), he's kept my love with Torchwood. I loved that moment when he asked Tosh what a real boss would do, and whether he would get to beat people. I love that he's an unabashed geek and can gush for hours about the coolness of a particularly nifty bit of technology. I have a darker take on Jack than a good bulk of the fandom, I think; he does a lot of morally ambiguous and downright wrong things but doesn't let it bother him; he's a master at compartmentalization, which is going to seriously screw him up eventually. I hope. Because that would be interesting to see. Long live Captain Jack!
Oh, Jack. He just breaks my heart up! I love that the first time we meet him he's being an awful person, and yet he still manages to have everyone in love with him by the end of the two episodes. I love the little look he gives Tosh when Gwen's worrying about having taken retcon, when he tells her to stay away from sharp objects. :)) I love that he sent the little girl off to the fairies, to save the world - that he'll make those big decisions that everyone else steps away from. I love the 1940s air he has to him. I love the way he keeps his hand on Gwen's shoulder when he shows her the weevil. I love that he's seen so much, and that we can't possibly imagine how amazing and terrible and wonderful it all is, and he can't tell anyone about it. I love that he held John's hand in the car. I love how quietly he spoke to the second victim they resurrected in TKKS, and told him they were looking after his wife. And, okay, superficially, I adore his smile. And his arms. And the way his shirt stretches tight across his shoulders. :)) I love

1. Beka Beka Valentine's the kind of strong, kickass woman that most scifi television merely aspires to. She's smart, clever, brave, loyal, and talented; she beats out the boys for awesomeness and does it without pretending to be one of them. Her relationship with Harper is one of the Best Things Ever. I wish they'd played more with her Flash addiction, but It Makes A Lovely Light was one of the greatest hours of television ever anyway, so I can't complain too much about it. She's an amazing slipstream pilot, good at hand-to-hand and armed combats, likes rock music and the Pogues, and comes equipped with angsty backstory and cute brother. And a dad I adore more than is healthy. She's pretty much the most awesome science-fiction pilot ever. So much love

18. Edward Um? Edmund? I'm gonna assume it's Edmund. I love Edmund, I do, he's so flawed. But flawed in totally understandable ways. Maybe it's because I have siblings so I can understand that feeling of jealousy and wanting to show them up. But things get out of his control, and he's totally stunned by what's going on around him, and it's not what he meant and he tries his hardest to fix it and make amends… And he learns from it, which is just so fantastic. That moment in Dawn Treader when he tells Eustace "You were just a creep, but I was a traitor." King Edmund the Just…he's so human, and I love him so very much.
It may be the late hour or too many hours fiddling with a motherboard, but I don't get I should be doing with this. Do I name just one fandom + character or one for every one on your list?
Ender's Game is a novel by Orson Scott Card, and has three sequels, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, and Children of the Mind. There's also a companion novel, Ender's Shadow, with its own sequels, Shadow of the Hegemon, Shadow Puppets, and Shadow of the Giant. I lump all the books together as being the Enderverse. Because it's easier.
