As of now, I'm a member of
Dreamwidth! I'll still be posting on here, I guess - all of LiveJournal's recent douchebaggery is still, apparently, not enough to drive me away for good. I can't help but feel that LJ is being slowly shifted to appeal to a different demographic, to be honest. Like they're trying to turn the site into some freaky hybrid of Facebook and Tumblr. I mean, I use and like (ish) both sites, but LiveJournal feels more like home to me. Tumblr and Facebook are both full of drama, and on Facebook I couldn't post half of the stuff I do on here. I know what you mean, though: I've been on LJ for nearly ten years (eep) and it's weird to think of not using it at all. I like Tumblr but it definitely is very drama-filled, and also you can only post to either everyone or no one - there's no in between.

So if they aren't getting rid of paid accounts, I'm guessing they're hoping more people will buy paid to get rid of the ads or something? I'm only assuming that there will still be no adverts on paid journals...
Thanks for the heads up on LJ/DW layouts, by the way; I'll see about getting this one on there some time :) Finding good looking floral backgrounds that tile well is most certainly NOT a skill of mine. :P
