Otakon has put Succeed or Die Writing III: You Just Got Fic-Rolled! on "Standby" status--we don't get a slot unless somebody else drops out. Apparently, despite Arthur, Justin, and myself running successful fanfic panels for the past two years, we're insufficiently weeaboo for them ( Read more... )

SRSLY. That is some bullshit right there. I was really looking forward to starting a fic-rolling trend, too.

"We're no strangers to love," Sanji said, fiddling uncomfortably with his cigarette before lighting it. His match flickered and nearly went out in the swelling breeze that had accompanied sunset.

Zoro grunted and leaned against Sunny's aft railing, staring out over the twilit ocean for a long moment before growling, "You know the rules, and so do I."

IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EPIC.

Now I'm super plus ultra mad at the Otakon folks. I need to find out their email address to complain: I just wanna tell them how I'm feeling. :-(

If it weren't for Yamaguchi Kappei, I'd feel no regrets at all about skipping the whole thing and being done with it. I go to Otakon to see people, and I can easily meet folks for lunch outside of the convention center (I was already planning on it, actually). But meeting the man who voices Usopp...that, I wanted. REALLY BADLY.

Knowing Otakon, they'll have a bunch of last minute panel drops (they always do) and they'll get in touch with us a week before con going "O HAY GAIZ CAN U DO UR PANEL Y/N LOLZ?" I'm seriously tempted to tell them to go to hell.
