I think ever people who were once intelligent and rational are becoming anti-intellectuals, I've seen it in people in my own family. Could it be all this fear mongering?

I think that the fear mongering is making it worse, but I think that it is older than that.

I so agree with that article. It makes it really difficult to teach at time because people do not want to think and analyze literature. And our educational system is not teaching them how to think, so they are in for a shock when they come into my classroom.
