Congrats on your grandson. That has to be the most wonderful part of all.
The media and my profession replaced victim with survior, but you hit on the key. It wasn't just surviving it was thriving. So what's the next word? Brave of you to share and I respect and honor that you did both survive and thrive.
What is this job that takes off 20 pounds???? I need one of those. or rather 4 of those.
Heheh. It's in a factory environment. I am lifting bundles of up to 75 lbs repeatedly throughout a 6 hour shift, moving equipment that weighs upwards of 200+lbs when filled and walking an average of 7 miles a night doing the various tasks, making sure clerks receive all the stuff that needs to be processed nightly, etc. Oo0
LoL. So does the rest of my family. Back when I was solid vegetarian, my children were teenagers and preteens. Every thanksgiving and xmas I would create these vegetarian feasts -- they loved the dishes I did serve -- but inevitably I'd always hear my son moan --"But *where's* the turkey? You can't have cranberry sauce without turkey, mom! It's unAmerican."
Well, it's not like I have to maintain a hold on it once it's up. All I need to do is pick up the tote containing a variety of items that weigh up to 75 lbs and transfer it from a cage (stands slightly taller than 6', I'm 5'2") twist and turn and deposit it on the handcart. So I do what they call powerlifting, which makes it easier and utilizing centrifugal force, swing that puppy around and down. ^_^
On the cart, I can cut the top off, sort and remove the items that cannot be sent to processing and then rinse, lather, repeat. :D
Once the cart is filled with approximately 30 of those totes, I push it to one of the machines where the clerk finishes the processing. TaDa!
