CSU: This Time Around - Chapter 3
YooChun drove JunSu in his red Mustang to the crime scene, all the while talking or more like yapping in JunSu's opinion because he hadn't has a slightest interest to whatever he said. His eyes were on the file, a copy sent to YooChun from the local PD. The file consists of photo snap shots of the victim, her personal details and an initial investigation the earlier units had carried out.
There, they met a local detective in charge of the area, Kim HeeChul who happened to be earliest to arrive at the crime scene. The CSU's introduced themselves and for the next 10 minutes, HeeChul filled them in about the eye-witness, Jeffrey Mason's statement. The other neighbours didn't know a thing, he said.
"Who found her?" YunHo asked, crouched down as he looked at the white body outline of the victim. Dried blood-stained still visible on the ground.
"That would be Fran Morell. Lives about 5 blocks away. Over at the hospital, scared" HeeChul read from his notes.
"Lots of shoe prints" YooChun saw the blood-stained shoe prints on the ground, started from a full print near the body to a partially printed ones a few feet away.
"Belonged to Morell, said she didn't know what to do when first found the body"
"Did she see anything?"
"Saw a silhouette running past this area but wasn't sure whether it was the attacker" HeeChul paused as an officer whispers something to him. "Would it be alright if I leave you guys here? Something came up"
"Yeah! Sure, thank you!" The CSUs bowed at him.
JunSu walks to the main road where he stood at the middle. He turned to his left, where Jeffrey Mason lives and then, to the right, where Yee lived. The distance isn't 10 metres apart. If Jeffrey Mason could hear her screamed, so does the other neighbours and judging by the time, the neighbourhood is quiet. So, why no one came down to help her? Or the bigger question, why no one else other than Mason noticed?
Then, he opened the file which consists of photo snap shots. One of the most interesting part was her hands and arms, there are no injuries nor defensive wounds. He recall JaeJoong told him about scrapping her nails to find nothing there except soil and sand. Proven, she didn't struggle nor playing defensive. A normal victim would have put up a fight, being panicked which resulting in a messy struggling episode. Scratches from fibers, hair or even skin cell could help unless their arms were bound. Yee has none. So, what was she doing?
"A penny for your thought" YooChun's goofy face appeared before, brings him back from reverie.
"What's your theory?" JunSu asked, wants to know from a profiler's point of view.
"Most cases of strangulation are the result of an uncontrollable rage and it is - contrary to popular belief - unusual for an attacker to deliberately set out to kill their victim by using that method. The most common reason for this is that the process is slow and requires a lot of strength" YooChun takes a deep breath before continuing "It is also used by some as a means of sexual arousal and is performed during what is known as Auto Erotic Asphyxiation. This is the practice of cutting off the blood supply to the brain"
"You're ruling a lust murder based on that?"
"Injuries to the victim kind of gave it out. Stabbing on the chest symbolizes that the attacker may have sexual fantasies gone awry with the victim. In many murder investigations it is common for the victim to have known the killer. So we're looking for an acquaintance who has had a huge crush on her and probably an harrassment prior to this one" YooChun finally concluded.
"You're good" JunSu smiled, nodded as he gave the compliment, impressed by his observation.
'You too, sexy!' YooChun answered in his mind but his mouth uttered a "Thank you"

The only entrance to the exam room was locked. Kim JaeJoong, now, dressed in a new lab coat and a pair of latex glove, standing before the cold, cleaned body of Alice Yee, ready to begin the autopsy. His assistant, Kim RyeoWook, is here to assist him.
"Ready?" JaeJoong asked him.
RyeoWook nodded, gloved finger reaching out to press the 'record' button on the player.
"The autopsy of Alice Yee begins at 11.15 am on 27th July 2008" JaeJoong said while looking at the clock hanging on the wall.
"The body is presented in a black body bag. When first viewed, the deceased is clothed in a purple turtleneck sleeveless shirt, a black ragged jeans with a matching long sleeve jacket and black high-heeled shoes. Jewellery included a pair of gold hoop pierced earrings and a gold bracelet" RyeoWook spoke of his initial findings when the body first got here. "The body is measuring 67 inches and weighing 130 pounds, a normally developed chinese female and appearing generally consistent with the stated age of twenty-six years"
"The eyes are open. The irises are brown and corneas are cloudy. The pupils measure 0.8 cm. The hair is black, straight and approximately 18 inches in length. The hair is encrusted with what appears to be blood" JaeJoong spoke while examining the head area, turned gently to inspect for other injuries.
"The neck revealed a latent mark" JaeJoong takes a measuring tape to measure the mark. "The mark is approximately 1.5 inches wide encircles the neck in the form of an inverted 'V' on the anterior of the neck and minor abrasions are present under the chin with what appears to be nails penetrating. A blunt force impact engulfed on the posterior of the neck, consistent with strangling. Fingerprints were lifted"
RyeoWook flipped the body to the side, facing him, holding it still, to let JaeJoong examines the back.
"Lividity is evident on the posterior surface of the body. A deep laceration were found on the right back shoulder. Wound were cast for analysis" JaeJoong nodded to RyeoWook to flip the body back in place.
"Two lacerations were found on each bilateral breast region. Both appeared identical to the one found on the back" JaeJoong said, inspecting the injuries with a magnifying eye glass, strapped on his left eye.
"Several 1.5 inches in length lacerations were found on the mid abdominal region just above the umbilical area. Major abrasions on both knees, appeared to have scratches. Sand and soil were lifted for analysis" JaeJoong concluded the external examination. He nodded to RyeoWook. The latter passes him a scalpel.to dissect the body and to complete the removal of all the internal organs.
JaeJoong takes a deep breathe before placing the scalpel on the chest.

ChangMin switched his cell phone to silent mode, puts it back in the phone pouch, with other gadgets clamped around his belt. He slipped on the latex glove before taking out all the sealed evidence bags from the locker to the back benches in Serology, where he could have plenty of space to spread out.
ChangMin took out the most important evidence from the paper bag, Alice Yee's clothes. There were stained of blood on her shirt and jacket, were ripped and torn in several places from the stabbings. Blood had soaked through the jacket's back fabric. The flow pattern suggested that, after she was stabbed, Alice has lain on her back for a period of time, the blood seeping through her jacket and from her shirt.
ChangMin cuts out a small rectangular-shaped on the blood-stained on each of her clothing, for a DNA testing. Then, ChangMin snapped shots on each of the clothing for his own set of reference. And now, using the light magnifier, began the long hunt across the fabrics looking for more evidence. He found soil, some sand and grass AND A HAIR.
ChangMin took the hair sample, mounted on glass microscope slides to have a good look. The hair shafts is in oval in cross section and have medium-sized with evenly distributed pigment granules. Not the hair belonged to Alice Yee, doesn't belong to any Asian. He smiled at the outcome, this possible could come from the killer.
He got up, about to send the sample for further DNA sampling when the computer which he used to scan the partial thumbprint JaeJoong sent him earlier.....a blinking message in green.
'Match Found....'
