Yeah, some of the people I follow for hockey reasons have switched to baseball so I see some of that.

It definitely can. I still wish my Grandma Josie could've lived to see the Buffalo Beauts and their winning the Isobel Cup, since the NHL team can't seem to get its act together lately.

It is strange how obsessions can change and grow and shift.

How come they aren't allowed to play in other leagues? That's weird.

IT's some kind of weird player development agreement - the major junior leagues have that rule about getting players who don't make the NHL back, and in turn the AHL (main North American minor league) has a rule about not playing more than a certain number of players who have reached the "veteran" limit of professional games at a time.
