Are you sure you're not waiting for this evening so you can drink Smirnoff?

YOU CAN DO IT!!! =D anonymous September 27 2004, 00:19:13 UTC
Hola Cherry! I totally feel you with the whole "drained" feeling. It's gonna be A-OKAY...hang in there! =) I felt that many times with my own students, but it makes it all worthwhile when you get those "I love teacher" notes, doesn't it?! I agree with you about staying stern...hmmm, 4 words to keep in mind: BE FIRM, FAIR & CONSISTENT. I've learned that you don't have to be an ogre to your kids in order for them to respond. Just be firm when they break rules and reward those who behave =). Ooohhh, maybe you can motivate them to be good with prizes. For example, in my class, I have these index cards that they call "CREDIT CARDS." They get to design it and everything. Any time they are behaving and being good, I stamp the cards (or you can just draw stars with a special-colored gold pen or something). At the end of the week, the students with a certain amount of stamps get raffle tickets or a small prize (ex: stickers, pencils, erasers, note from you). If you don't want to change the other teacher's rules by introducing the credit card, ( ... )

Ahhhh! congrats Noreeeeeeeeen!! I'm really happy for you and Michael :) I hope I'll be around for the big day too. does that mean, i'm invited? hehe! :) Thanks for your advice too. The Credit Card sounds like an awesome idea. The kids at my school maybe a little different though....It seems like they don't seem to respond to directions like kids would in the states. In anycase, I like the credit card idea. mabe my teacher can impliment it too. :)

cherry!

sorry i haven't written in a while. i hardly go on here anymore. but to keep you up to date on what's going on back here, let me divulge a few...

the cousins (me, camille, jake & macoy mainly) have been bonding! we took a trip to vegas this past weekend. 'twas crazy fun! we invited the others who are old enough to gamble, but they're all poopers. oh well. can't say we didn't invite.

beverly is pregnant. her baby shower is on oct. 9th. think you can make it? haha.

jenny and carmel are college girls! we helped my sis move into her dorm @ UCI...i'm a little envious because i didn't get the chance to move out. but it's cool...i'm encouraging of her to have fun. in fact, we're actually getting closer. weird. oh and carmel drives now.

it's funny. everyone is growing up now.

well...back to work...boss is coming back soon.

take care,

geraldine

It's the return of your favorite Costa Rican!! I know you can hardly contain yourself. Please you're embarrasing me...Cut it out! I'm blushing...This is getting ridiculous. Okay, I miss you too Cherry!!!

Glad to hear your getting a challenge from those 3rd graders. I can just picture all the name calling, whining, snot, and attitude. I just hope the kids don't start doing that too!! :-)

Well, I'll check in on you again soon. Take care of yourself. In the meantime I'll continue to keep you in my prayers.

God bless,

Antony "Da Costa Rican Terror"
