Stupid gremlins...

Ack, the Joint Gremlins have laid seige. As usual, the Left Knee Gremlin started the party; favoring that one caused the Right Knee Gremlin, the Ankle Gremlins, and the Hip Gremlins to get in on the act. Yuck. The Knee Gremlins are happiest when I sit, the Hip Gremlins are happiest when I don't. My best bet seems to be "sprawled across the couch", ( Read more... )

I recommend Aleve-- just don't take it on an empty stomach.

Aleve is good stuff, but, alas, I've found it doesn't work well when my joints flare up. What I really need is the 800 mg prescription strength ibuprofen, but I can't take that before work, as it knocks me out like a ton of bricks.

yeah-- I can see that 800mgs would do that (btw, if you don't have the prescription, you can get away with just taking more of the regular ones)... you could always try taking it along with something that will keep you awake, like caffeine tablets, or in my case ephedrine (since caffeine does not keep me awake, it just makes me shaky and unwell).

Or, I could stop giving you lousy medical advice that I'm not qualified to give. Go ask nightengalesknd-- her advice is better than mine!

By the way, your user icon makes me laugh-- love it! I also like the Riker picture above-- I used to have the biggest crush on him!

I've got the prescription, thank goodness. Need to get it refilled before my refill expires. But even at school, where I was drinking massive amounts of mountain dew it still made me sleepy. Falling asleep in class is not good. Falling asleep at the bench is less good. And I can't drive with it either. So I only take it when I'm home and not going anywhere for a while.

The engineer icon is from agentrosecotton. I've got another one of those with the periodic table. And yeah, Riker is awesome.

I hope you feel better. Would e-menacing the Gremlins help?

E-menacing probably wouldn't help, but the Wonder-Profen did. I just can't take it when I'm working or driving. But I took some before bed last night, and it seems to have done the trick. Yay Motrin!
