I was just saying to purpletom earlier about how nice the mini-carrots were when we grew them a few years ago (we had extra seeds & had put them in a shallow trough :-)

Yay growing things! I did the first harvest from our second batch of radishes today (first batch was greenhouse grown, this lot are from the ones in the raised bed, which I've just realised means they're less tham a month since planting. Yay!)

yay!
not sure what happenned to my beetroots, they're in the same trough as the lettuce and I think they might have been a bit squeezed out. the leaves are tasty in my sandwiches though.
Talking of beetroots, there was a lady behind me in the queue at Subway today, obviously not been to a Subway before...
Her: Do you just have normal bread? no? can I have the brown bread then?
(Assistant gets some bread)
Her: Can I just have some butter on it?
Assistant: Sorry we don't have butter
Her: Okay, can I have some of that turkey..
Assistant: Would you like any cheese?
Her: no
(Sandwich moves on to the salad part)
Her: have you got any beetroot?
I stopped listening at that point cos I was paying for it, not sure what they charged her for in the end! I think she'd forgotten to make her own sandwiches before she left home...

I got confused when we went to Subway in New York - in my defence, it'd been aaaaages since I'd been to any Subway, and also I was really hungry and just wanted food without decisions - the guy said "Salad?" and I said "Yes please."
Lol.

lol, did you get everything?
Normally Subway is my food without decisions cos i just have the sub of the day - i like most of them, and they're cheaper!
I'd never noticed before that beetroot isn't one of their salad options.
