Have dedicated tonight's extra hour to read! And aw, man, while I have to admit these two are only my second favorite pairing from MR, I'm really rather intrigued with all these hints to backstory and would like to read more. Wish I could comment more extensively, but, you know how it is :(

Don't worry - there is a lot more, but it's the difficulty of sliding in backstory here and there, cos they wouldn't tell it to each other, both knowing it, and what with being very private people they're unlikely to tell anyone else. Bah. I shall just have to keep dropping small nuggets and hope it's enough.

Good luck with your thing-not-to-be-mentioned, hope it's going ok, mine's pretty much almost there - I think.

I continued last night's indulgence by reading "The past is a foreign country" on ff.net, which I hadn't before because, apparently, I thought I had read it before, and I may be a convert*. How inconvenient when I still have to finish that big hunk of Mal-related angst and that other thing which is going okay-ish I mean at least there's some sort of effect somewhere in the data but the panic level is rising so close to the deadline..

I likes the small nuggets because I appreciate subtlety in angst even if I don't tend to achieve it myself.

*Which is not to say I want squee and drop everything I'm doing should there be an update to the Polly/ Mal thing.
