Currently chilling in wonderful Oita-ken, in a beautiful **** star hotel at a ** hotel price. Thank you, JTB! ^^ I also happened to arrive during the city's festival . . I think the bus driver called it "onsen matsuri" though there's no onsen . . just a street full of food peddling. Man, I still don't know how the Japanese live so long with all ( Read more... )

I hope you enjoy your last week or so in Japan. I've been learning a lot through what you've been posting here about your experiences. ^^

And I got the pencil board in the mail from you yesterday...

THANK YOU!

You totally made my day~! ^____________________^

YOU'RE WELCOME!
I found it at Animate and did a double-take, "Waitaminute. Hajime's not Anime . ."

Thanks for reading! Rants aside, I do try to present it as a Japan Tourism Promotion blog. ^^ So what's your ETA to Japan? ;)

OITA!!!!!! I miss it so much!!! You must be in Beppu? It's the onsen capital of Japan, and smells like sulfur. Enjoy my (former) prefecture!

Pin-pon! I'm glad I didn't hear the word wrong for a change. ^^ I didn't smell any sulfur though, too much takoyaki in the air I guess. Did you live close to Beppu?

I was wondering about the train conductors as well -- every single one of them, regardless of if they're on a JR line or a private line, have that nasal voice and funny pauses mid-sentence. "Doah ni....go-chuui kudasai" (with inexplicable final rise in intonation). It must be some sort of conspiracy. Or some sort of weird standard; something like those elevator attendants/be-hatted service counter people in the department stores.

Yeah, that is strange, huh? I think it is some kinda polite thing, but man, if they just listened to themselves on tape, it sure sounds silly. I think I've heard them use that voice in department stores too . .

Thanks for dropping by. :)
