Good thing: Getting a brand new Calphalon roaster and spaghetti pot for Christmas.
Bad thing: Being unable to fit one's new cookware into one's tiny apartment cabinets.

I know, I know. My life is so hard.

I feel for you. My friend gave me a really pretty, really nice wok. Does the damn thing fit ANYWHERE in my kitchen? No. It is in the hall closet.

Woks are like that. The main reason my new stuff won't fit in the kitchen is that the only appropriate space is filled up by my wok. But it's okay. How often am I going to be roasting stuff anyway?

Hello, Cheerfulstoic and Erinmind.

I'm very impressed by your wok ownership. What do you cook in them? I'm not sure what I would do with it if I had one.

Aimee! For a second there I thought I had a stalker.

Woks are for stir-frying, which I actually do fairly often. It's a pretty quick and delicious way to cook stuff. I mostly use shrimp or sliced beef or sliced chicken breasts, with vegetables and a sauce of some sort. Stir-fry, then dump on a pile of rice. Easy peasy.

What kind of sauce do you use? I can always use more recipe ideas...

In other food news, you might want to check out Joseph Mallozzi's blog. He's amusing, a foodie who writes about food and includes pictures, and a sci-fi screenwriter. Speaking of which, do you still have that Star Trek answering machine message? Or was it Star Wars? I don't remember.
