Characters: Mashiro, Rukia When: BACKDATED to Weds the 11th, afternoon Where: Thirteenth Kitchens Rating: PG Summary: Mashiro and Rukia make chocolate for their Lovers.
Mixed in with Rukia's irritation at the thrice-damned chocolate was some pleasure at finally getting to meet another one of the Vaizards. Despite the apparent lack of shyness Mahiro exhibited on the network, she didn't seem to make a habit of wandering through Seireitei proper, and Rukia hadn't yet run into her while visiting her captain. She knew what the girl looked like-though she hadn't gotten a proper introduction in the past, she'd at least seen most of the Vaizards before, albeit some of them from far-off. Later on, Ichigo had told her about his onetime companions, but it didn't paint a while picture

Opening the door, Mashiro blinked. She was shorter than she had anticipated. "You goofed again?" she asked while walking into the room and looking down at the batch upon the counter. It took a lot of effort not to make a face and shirk away

Rukia sniffed. She didn't want to admit to anything of the sort-after all, she was following directions to the best of her ability! It was just chocolate. It couldn't be that hard. But it kept turning out badly, and there were few common denominators.
"That sounds fine," she said, and turned back to the table where she'd piled up some of the things that Kira's recipe had recommended. "Honestly, I wouldn't even be doing this if it were just up to me-I don't care if anyone gets me something for White Day. But with everything that's gone on lately, I thought it might be nice to do something more cheerful." She shrugged, a little embarrassed at the sappy thought.
In return, Mashiro gave a smile. She thought it was sweet. "You make it sound like it's like, a bad thing." Over her shoulder she looked at Rukia while drying her hands off. The things seemed to have come together and she checked at the stove top.
"I turn it to about. . .um, six or seven. Put on a pot and melt the chocolate. That's the first thing you do." Pointing at it, she waved her hand at the metal and then the chocolate. She wasn't going to do it for Rukia, that defeated the point of teaching and helping. But if Rukia asked for more aid than this she would not mind!
"It isn't a bad thing," Rukia mumbled, still a little pink. "It's just...never mind."
She shook her head and busied herself with following Mashiro's instructions. Her pride was still a little tender from needing help at all, but it was best to get over such things and do the work at hand.
"Cupcakes sound a lot easier," Rukia remarked as she worked. "I should have thought of that. But apparently chocolates are more traditional." She shrugged. "I'm doing my best. They can like it or not."
