The Hollow was barely a blip on Hitsugaya's phone. Big in size but average when it came to spiritual pressure, it didn't pose much of a threat at all. (Then again, he did have a habit of underestimating such things. It didn't feel too badly, though; perhaps a little more powerful than the average Hollow.) In fact, the hardest part of his job on this one was getting to it; Hitsugaya had been halfway across town and still the closest shinigami to the thing. As he approached, its reiatsu filled his senses -- followed shortly by another more familiar and less ominous presence ( ... )

Ururu's wide violet eyes blinked in what could called astonishment, for all that the rest of her face didn't change. As quick as anything the Captain had come at the Hollow then suddenly turned his attack away to nab Brutus out of the air. Wow, that was close.

With a small sigh of relief that Brutus was now in good hands - literally - she turned her full attention back to the Hollow. She felt a tiny thrill of excitement. The way Hitsugaya-taichou had landed, the Hollow was now facing her almost directly, and it was a nice big target looming above him.

She was going to be helpful.

With careful aim she immediately fired the cannon. Bam-bam-bam-bam-bam-bam-bam! The gun's noise reverberated off the buildings as the bullets impacted the Hollow's mask. With a howl the Hollow crashed to the ground, flailing about as it began to dissolve.

Ah~, how very disappointing it was over already. She had overestimated it's abilities, for it had been little more than average after all.

He glanced at Ururu after he landed and was very glad he did. Otherwise, he may have put himself right into the path of that cannon of hers -- and what a cannon it was. He blinked at it, hardly able to believe that the recoil didn't put her flat on her back. (He supposed that was a little hypocritical of him. How often did he get upset when someone supposed he was too small and slight to do anything useful? It hadn't happened in a long time, but still...)

Hitsugaya looked at the rat and sighed. Brutus seemed absolutely content and happy. Probably didn't realize how close he'd come to both being eaten by a Hollow and cleaved in half by a zanpakutou. He slid into a quick shunpo, landing on the ground a few yards beside Ururu and then walking toward her.

"Your rat got out again."

The excitement of the Hollow kill over, Ururu was able to grasp her situation a bit more soundly once the Captain approached her.

With a sigh she realized that her reiatsu was back to normal - and had been since she'd noticed Burtus had snuck away. Some spy she was. It would have been fun to follow Hitsugaya-taichou around, too. Well, maybe another time.

For that matter, she had best not let on to the Captain that she was on a mission. She blushed to think that Kisuke-san was monitoring (perhaps? somehow?) this situation. She determined to make him pleased with how she handled it.

Yet she was so embarrassed - Brutus had to be saved by Hitsugaya-taichou again.

Resting the tip of the cannon on the ground she gave the Captain a bow.
"I- I'm sorry, Hitsugaya-taichou. This time we were out together, but... he got away from me." Oh, how irresponsible of her!

At least she kept her wits about her enough to not stammer too much. Their last encounter had left an impression.

"Maybe he needs a leash," Hitsugaya said dryly. He tilted his head toward her; she had bowed to him. He could return the gesture, in part. She was still stammering, just a little when she first started speaking. Much better than what she'd been doing when he first met her.

He held Brutus out toward her with one hand, the other occupied with his sword. He held it away from her, the point just resting on the ground.

"What are you doing out here?"
