Who: Mayuri Kurotsuchi, Ulquiorra Schiffer Where: Around Seireitei When: November 27 Summary: With the situation in Hueco Mundo yet in chaos, the Cuarta Espada continues to gauge its effects elsewhere. Rating: PG-13
For his part, Ulquiorra didn't move a step from where he had stopped, save to keep Mayuri in his line of vision. His visage ever that stoic expression seemingly carved in stone, he gave no reaction to the response from the captain. He knew who the man was, he knew, if vaguely, what the man did.
"And has your testing produced satisfactory results?" He doubted that satisfactory was hardly something Mayuri would settle for. As for any thoughts to try evading further surveillance by the man, Ulquiorra could care less to make such efforts. He supposed that it would be somewhat disappointing if Shinigami did not care what occurred in their own established territory. His visits of late had really not been of any secret objective, and if anything, the presence of Arrancar in Soul Society's midst only served as a reminder that the Shinigami weren't completely in control of things as they liked to think.
"There's no such thing satisfactory results until proper testing is conducted, and proper testing never ends. A single abhoration in the results is worthy of investigation."
His bright eyes flickered over the Espada again, and he moved forward. "I'm curious about your reason for being here, even if no others have thought to question you about it. What is your purpose? You and...ah, the other Arrancar that I have been tracking."
So many of them. Some more powerful than should be accepted willingly into Soul Society. Aizen again. If he had his way, they would all be inside out in his laboratories...
"Hn." Such as was an answer to be anticipated from a scientist. Ulquiorra expected nothing less of the man, and as Mayuri looked him over again while approaching, the Espada himself stood his ground. Of course he'd be curious. The sudden visitation of so many Arrancar was nothing to dismiss, but then neither were previous ones

"You have been turned out from your homes, haven't you? Like the proverbial fish, you have sought out the next-nearest place with an adequate level of spirit particles. Seireitei." He smiled, leaning closer. "I'm fascinated~"
He watched Ulquiorra hungrily. "Have you seen any of them? I haven't had the oppurtunity to study them. Ah~ Perhaps in time." He curled his fingers together, tapping his long nail against his wrist thoughtfully. Perhaps he could convince Ukitake to give him proper orders to go to the living world..."
Again, the Espada seemed disinclined to answer. He continued to watch Mayuri, just as closely, perhaps, as the captain watched him, save that no smiles or sneers betrayed his thoughts. He really had no reason to linger, let alone indulge Mayuri's questions, but neither did he have any set task beside that which he always found placed upon himself. This was a rare time in which a shinigami willingly cared to interact with him. It would be a waste to let such an opportunity pass, for whatever opportunity it might be
