     Again, the Espada seemed disinclined to answer. He continued to watch Mayuri, just as closely, perhaps, as the captain watched him, save that no smiles or sneers betrayed his thoughts. He really had no reason to linger, let alone indulge Mayuri's questions, but neither did he have any set task beside that which he always found placed upon himself. This was a rare time in which a shinigami willingly cared to interact with him. It would be a waste to let such an opportunity pass, for whatever opportunity it might be.

"...you have not seen them yourself." It was posed as a statement, but it could easily be turned a question in itself. But Mayuri would not have asked if he had seen them. This was information in and of itself. "We have not been 'turned out,' as you say. There is little point in expending energy on such creatures as we have not quite come to understand them save for their obvious intentions." He wondered what the scientist captain would glean from his own studies, were he given the chance. He wondered if Szayel-Aporro had studied them, as per Aizen's earlier orders before the things had overrun Hueco Mundo.

"Yes, I have seen them. I have even spoken with one," he continued, watching for the captain's reaction.
