[[you dork! Daughtry rocks tho. XD]]

Sachiko never seemed to sit still. Not even on a Sunday, when the library was closed and the coffee shop she worked at sometimes hadn't needed a hand and her captain had already scolded her three times for even showing up at the office today because really, was she trying to bankrupt the Fifth, paying her all this overtime? She had insisted she was just reorganizing her desk (which was sort of true) and didn't expect to be paid for it (also true), but Renji had shooed her out the door nonetheless (well what was he doing at the office on a Sunday??). And so now she just had a box of paperclips in her sleeve and...a free afternoon.

What was she supposed to do with that??She had already watered the plants and made sure her three bookshelves were in order...the Monday-morning memos were done already. Seriously, what was she ( ... )

There was little that could compare to being lost in music. Shuuhei liked to say it was similar to being drunk, letting yourself get swept away until all your senses were one and focused on the notes that filled your ears and the steel beneath your fingers. It was easier to let himself get carried away, now that his playing did not sound like a two year-old trying out a new toy for the first time (thanks to Chad). Shuuhei really could not judge if he was good or not, either, but he enjoyed playing none the less. It was calming, engulfing. Hours could be spent in a matter of minutes, and he would not have it any other way.

He was not used to an audience, however.

The clapping made Shuuhei blink, dark blue eyes refocusing on the wall in front of him before he looked about almost frantically. No, he did not expect to see a young woman standing in his the alleyway, nor any reaction from her. Applause was nice, of course, but considering Shuuhei was hoping to debut something cheesy in front of Rangiku, it was a little embarrassing ( ... )

Sachiko flailed when the captain rose and apologized.

"Oh! No, no, not at all, Hisagi-taichou!" she gasped, waving her hands animatedly. "If anything, I'm the intruder. I was heading back to my room and thought I heard music...so I followed the sound here." She gestured. "I didn't know you liked music, Hisagi-taichou," she admitted; "you play very well."

And she hadn't thought the song was cheesy at all!

Realizing that she was standing before a captain and hadn't even introduced herself, Sachiko quickly bowed low, dropping her head.

"Er--forgive me," she said tightly. "I'm Mikagami Sachiko of the Fifth Division. I work at the admin desk; Abarai-taichou kicked me out and said I wasn't allowed to work on Sundays anymore, so I was just out for a walk to kill some time."

After a brief pause, she lifted her head a bit.

"If...I may ask, sir," she began, giving him a timid look, "what sort of instrument is that? It looks like a very strange sort of shamisen, but I'm quite sure I've never seen anything like it."

Well, at least he did not seem to be only one finding the situation a little awkward. He frowned slightly at the sudden formalities, though only because he was having troubles placing where he had seen her before. The second she introduced herself, however, his expression lightened visibly. That was right, she was the extremely punctual girl from the Fifth. He had seen her often enough any time he came by--though less so as a Captain than a Vice-Captain--but had never paid much attention. That made him feel a little sheepish ( ... )

Sachiko was no stranger to people not having a clue who she was. She hadn't done anything remarkable in her time with the Gotei, held no seat, hadn't even managed to achieve the shikai release of her zanpakutou yet. She would have been more surprised if Shuuhei had known who she was.

"Mm? Oh! No, I like days off just fine," she assured him, "but things have been awfully busy these days, so I've been working over the weekends to try and keep on top of the filing and memos. Goodness knows Abarai-taichou still hasn't figured out Hinamori-fukutaichou's filing system; though I can't imagine why not. It isn't that complicated."

She blanched when she realized she had just inadvertently insulted her captain to another captain and shook her head fiercely ( ... )
