Spring Break

I went on a short cruise this week.

My first one. I don't know that I'll ever go on another. The motion of the ship and I didn't really get along too well. I didn't feel sick until I got home, then blech. And there were a few too many raucous drunken people around most of the time. Parts of it, though, were very nice.

For a week I contemplated what ( Read more... )

LOL. Checkers, you are made of win. I'm glad you had a good time. The dune buggies sound fun! Actually so does Key West and the Mayan ruins and the snorkeling. Yay for vacations!

You would have loved Key West and the 6-toed cats at the Hemingway House. So cute. I think I'd like to live in Florida, though the Miami airport was horrendous.

1) Those cats have awesome names. Also, yay Hemingway house!

2) aaaaaaaaaaaah Mayan ruins aaaaaaaah but also awesome!

3) aw, I love ships. One day I want to sail across the Atlantic. First I need to learn how to be useful on a boat. One step at a time.

4) that's awesome that you got to go in the first place! I'm glad you got to see lots and lots of cool stuff.

5) LOLOL I LOVE THE MONKEY.

6) Yay for book snobbery! :-b (although I feel like Mr. Checkers should know better by this point :-b)

7) Glad you made it there and back again! :-D

You could be the lounge singer! I've never heard you sing, but trust me, you'd be better than these people. Now I understand what Simon Cowell means, on American Idol, when he says, "Frankly, that sounds like something you'd hear on a cruise ship." It means they sang really, really badly.

Or, you could run the karaoke lounge. Though before long you'd want to poke sharp things through your eardrums. Trust me.

Mr. checkers and I count on one another to save us from ourselves. He doesn't let me gamble away the house, and I keep him away from hack authors, pleated pants, those kinds of things.

Coconut monkey + random tropical rum drink = ftw :)

The activities you did sound like fun! Although where are our Mayan ruin photos?

I'm glad you survived your gambling experience with money/car/house etc still in your possession :)

Here you go. This was the top of an ancient lighthouse, so they said. We saw a sort of mini-ruins.

I'm glad you survived your gambling experience with money/car/house etc still in your possession

Until next time!

I've missed you, too! I haven't been in Chatzy in ages but will try to get to the chat. I *heart* my monkey very much, in fact I drank water out of it at dinner the other night. :)

hey! we could bring our cool Thief questions to the chat and see what the Sounis folks have to say about them! On topic chat - ftw!

Good idea! The Thief questions need to be asked either in Chatzy or as a post in Sounis. Your call.

Tropical vacations are among my most favorite things in the whole world, and that monkey coconut would certainly make the list as well :D

Who'd've thought the seasickness would be a problem after getting home?

I love tropical, too. Being sick after getting home was a result of the seasickness patch I wore. One of the side effects is nausea after you take it off. I wasn't expecting that and it didn't bode well for going to work the next day.
