How to beat the stinkies...

I'm done pretending that "mineral salt" is acceptable form of deodorant. I've been using it for years with results that I was satisfied with but still seem to offend others. So I'm looking to change brands here. Anyone know a good cruelty-free deodorant that isn't "scented" with that awful fake cologne smell?

I've been using straight baking soda applied with a teensy bit of water (or a little bit out of the shower works too). Some have said to also use apple cider vinegar in conjunction with the baking soda. My boyfriend found the ACV to be too strong in smell and I didn't notice any real difference between using it and plain water.

One note of caution is that baking soda can sometimes irritate my skin, especially if I rub it in too rigorously. So I try to remember to just dab. And make sure you don't use too much, otherwise you start sweating white baking soda rings into your shirts! Other than that I have been really happy with it!

I second baking soda. So cheap and works great!

how exactly do you, er, apply the baking soda without it getting everywhere? i've tried a few times and ended up with a big mess. =/

naked :P

also if you get your fingers slightly damp you can pick up the baking soda much easier and with less flyaways!

I swear by the liquid deoderants made by Aubrey - they're roll-ons, I think one is unscented and the other is aloe + almond.

I use mineral stuff when I first get out of the shower, and then the roll-on when I'm about to go out and be presentable.

I either make my own or use Jasons natural Tea Tree deodorant stick. it all depends on how I am feeling and what else is going on in my life if I have time to make it or not.

Tom's is great but it was bought out by Colgate-Palmolive. So probably not quite cruelty-free anymore.

you're gonna stink a little with ANY deoderant. only anti-perspirants stop the stinkies entirely, but they're never natural.

I use Mitchum unscented gel. It's amazing. I have a funky PH and get stinky super easy and my boyfriend has wicked high testosterone and it even works on him!
