[SO LOOK WHO FINALLY MADE IT TO CHERRYGROVE ALIVE.
...and is now curled up in the Pokemon Center with an ungodly amount of blankets and is STILL freezing cold.
Not that anyone outside of the center can see this, though.]
...I am never coming back to this city ever, ever again.
Er -- Apollo, Edgeworth, we're here. In one piece.
[...and then he sneezes.

[... Awwwwwww. He looked like a babushka doll in all those blankets. Which was not a flattering metaphor but awwwww.]
... Cold, huh?

Just a bit.

Well at least you've got enough padding to stay warm now.
[She would refrain from saying AWWWWW for the sake of his dignity, but... it was close, man. It was close.]

Y-yeah. [And in response, he just huffs and tugs the mas of blankets closer.]

Not used to winter travels, I take it?
Reply
Not really. It's always...muggy and humid where I'm from. Most of the time. I really don't like cold weather...
Reply
Muggy and humid? Like a permanent summer? That must do wonders for agriculture. But I guess it wouldn't help bulding up a cold tolerance.
Reply
Not permanent, really. It just gets really hot in the summer, and not very cold in the winter. [He shrugs, but it's hard to hell because of the blankets.] It's a pretty big change, coming here. The air is a LOT cleaner here, too...

I am so with you on that one. That was almost as bad as stayin' up in the mountains a few months ago!
[Except then, he had proper clothing on.]

You? In the mountains?

Anyway, yeah! I was up there with my mentor, for inspiration on my artwork. ["Inspiration" is stressed like ~*INSPIRATION*~"] You were there too, with Maya and Pearl! ... And you were just as annoyed by the cold.
[He's...not going into further details because it's depressing.]

...but his incredulous look does not change at all.] An artist? You? In the mountains?
...and you dragged us with you? What the heck was I thinking?
Reply
....Well, I'm glad you're here.
[And it's obvious in the way that he's radiating an aura of joy as he settles next to Phoenix and swings his legs (although that's not so noticeable under his layer of blankets)]

...and, whoa. He was tiny. All of those video posts did not do his munchkin size justice. But he can't help but grin sheepishlyat the sight of his childhood-friend-turned-rival-turned-childhood-friend.]
Hey, Edgeworth. Sorry we took so long.

It's got to be the former. It's got to be. Miles smiles back at him anyway.]
She's warm, isn't she? [He indicates the Pess happily nuzzling Phoenix.
Phoenix, who was, to Miles, very tall. He tries to sit a bit straighter so he doesn't feel so small, to no avail.]
Reply
She is. [He rubs her behind the ears absentmindedly, still giving Miles a contemplative look.] ... [SO SHORT.] Er--how have you been? Have you been able to sleep?
