[SO LOOK WHO FINALLY MADE IT TO CHERRYGROVE ALIVE.

Not that anyone outside of the center can see this, though.]

[Have a random Cecil. A random Cecil who has taken pity on you and is offering hot chocolate.]

Not used to winter travels, I take it?

[He looks up, a bit startled, giving the hot chocolate a...somewhat skeptical look before taking it with an appreciative nod.]

Not really. It's always...muggy and humid where I'm from. Most of the time. I really don't like cold weather...

[It even has little marshmallows.]

Muggy and humid? Like a permanent summer? That must do wonders for agriculture. But I guess it wouldn't help bulding up a cold tolerance.

[...which Phoenix eyes, still a bit dubiously, as he takes a sip.]

Not permanent, really. It just gets really hot in the summer, and not very cold in the winter. [He shrugs, but it's hard to hell because of the blankets.] It's a pretty big change, coming here. The air is a LOT cleaner here, too...

The air is cleaner? Does that mean that the air in your world is somehow dirty?

Los Angeles isn't known for it's fresh air, no. [A light chuckle.] It's not as bad as some cities, but it's definitely not good.

That's a shame. It must make going outdoors less pleasant. Is it dangerous, or simply unpleasant?

No, no, not...dangerous, per se. Cities produce a lot of pollution, and yeah, it's kind of unhealthy, but nothing real life-threatening where I'm from. I've heard that some cities really ARE that bad, but I think they're mostly in China... I think.

Are there any advantages to living in those cities?

Well, it's really convenient. If you live downtown, everything is pretty much within walking or biking distance. There's always something to do, too, and there's a lot of variety.

...it's also pretty easy to get a job. Being right in the middle of everything and all.

That sounds quite a bit like home, but we manage to have all that with fresh air. Then again, if we truly want variety, we need to visit other towns by boat, and that can take weeks. Just how big is that Los Angeles?

Los Angeles is...about 500 square miles. And it's one of the most populated cities in the world. Definitely the biggest one on the west coast...

You live on an island, then?

500 square miles?! You could fit most of the cities of my world in there!

Oh no, not on an island. But most of the terrain on the different continents is uncultivated, and with all the monsters not everyone is strong enough to travel by land. To get to the closest village, we need to walk through plains and forests for weeks and we have to go through mountain caves. Ships are simply much easier. Airships even more so, but there are simply not enough of them.

R-really? That's a pretty small world...L.A. isn't even close to being the biggest city on our world, too.

So it's mostly uncivilized? That...sounds kind of neat, really. Not the bit about the monsters, though. Er...are they bad?

[and he's going to sit here and assume that airship is a fancy word for airplane. Oh, Phoenix.]

Well, all the farmland wouldn't fit in there, just the main towns. But people take very little place in my world. The forests, the mountains, the plains, the deserts, the seas... Most of them are untouched by man. It's a very peaceful world, when it's not being attacked.

The monsters can get dangerous, but they're not that bad. They don't come near towns, and they can be defeated by trained knights. The Underworld has it worse.

We've come a long way in my world, but...even then, we're still only scratching the surface. We've explored the land, the oceans...the sky, even. But there's still so much more. I don't think we'll ever really be able to discover it all. [Whoa whoa whoa, Phoenix where did that come from. Maybe he's homesick? It sure sounds like it.]

...er, "Underworld"? [That...doesn't sound pleasant.]
