Review: Stargate Atlantis - Brain Storm

Rodney takes Keller to a scientific symposium. Not surprisingly, things do not go well, but not in the way you might think.

McKeller is a waste of time.

Yup.

Still not sure if I want to watch this one. Thanks to highly selective viewing, I still like Keller by and large, but I know that wouldn't be the case if I watched a number of the shows that I've pointedly not watched.

Well, since you've gotten a heads up about this one, maybe you can ignore the Keller bits? Or maybe watch all of it and see if you have a different opinion of Keller. The bits with Foley and Nye were so good that I'd hate for you to miss them.

still want Ronon and Keller. I don't care what the writers say.

Me too. Stupid writers.

I am so sorry I missed watching this with you and Mare last night. I think that was the only thing that could have gotten me through this ep. I was at a party and didn't make it home until after 10.

I tried to watch the ep, I really did. But I turned it on just as Keller was telling Rodney to sit down and be quiet that it couldn't possibly be his research that the other guy was using and I couldn't take it. No matter how good Rodney looks in a tux, I couldn't watch it. *sigh* I didn't think I was such a McShep fan that I'm unequivocally unable to watch McKeller, but maybe I am, because I just couldn't take it!

We missed you but figured you were out.

My advice is to record it next week without watching it. Then watch the recording with the remote in one hand so that you can ffwd past all of the Keller stuff. The bits with Rodney snarking with his fellow physicists are wonderful. There are some great lines from all of them.

Oh, good idea! And Rodney in a tux was too cute! I'll be there next week!

As usual, you hit most of the points I was already thinking about. :-)

Bill Nye was a hoot! He had me at "That's two words, genius." Hee.

"Giant Presentation of Egomania" ftw! Funny to hear Rodney complaining about someone else's ego.

I'm having trouble with McKeller, too. I'm with you, that maybe if they had been doing this from the start. It was much, much too an abrupt switch from Rodney/Katie and Ronan/Keller. Why was it necessary? Why get rid of Katie?

I really hate the flowing dress/clunky boots combination, too. Someone must think that's a super sexy look because it's always only the main cast members. Boots just don't seem to go with a cocktail dress, imho. It may be just a sign of the times I grew up in, but I always thought boots with a skirt looked sleeker/better when the skirt covered the top of the boots. But that's just me. YMMV.

Plus boots need to be paired with a heavier fabric and a less formal outfit. For Fall and Winter, pair off the boots with a heavier A-line or pencil skirt and a pullover sweater or turtleneck. It's a great look for business or casual and fits the season as well.

But a floaty, nearly sleeveless dress with lots of decollatage is all wrong for boots. It's like when one of those fashion magazines suddenly declares a look is 'in'. Just because they say so, doesn't mean I'm going to agree.

Perfect examples! Boots look good in those pictures.

Boots with lightweight (summerweight?) fabrics just look weird, yet they seem so determined to pair them whenever they have a chance.

I'd rather have seen John and Rodney make out. Is that so wrong? *bg*

If it's wrong then in the immortal words of whatever song that was, "I don't want to be right!". :D
