I have committed McShep, thanks to a conversation elsewhere on LJ. This is my first piece set in Stargate Atlantis and it is short and sweet and humorous. The pairing is John/Rodney. My first reaction was "If I wanted to watch CSI, then I'd be watching CSI." Expecting one show and getting a completely different show in every respect was jarring which naturally set up disappointment in the result. However, there were some good parts.

Jason was well enough to attend the Creation Con this weekend. There's a quick report and a photo over at Stargate Solutions.

I'm very relieved to see that Jason is doing well.

Rodney takes Keller to a scientific symposium. Not surprisingly, things do not go well, but not in the way you might think.

Details are sketchy, but Jason, who plays Ronon Dex on Stargate Atlantis, was attacked a few days ago by someone who hit him in the face with a glass which shattered. Jason needed 140 stitches during reconstructive surgery. Here are some news bites about the incident ( Read more... )

Sci-fi has released the ratings for the Daniel-centric Stargate Atlantis episodes First Contact and Lost Tribe with Michael Shanks as guest star.  First Contact aired September 26th  in the usual Season 5 timeslot of 10:00 pm.  It was up against one of the presidential debates and earned a 1.1 which is about average for the season so far.

I've never voted for Best Ever - can't manage to do it while a series is still active as who knows what is yet to come.  BUT - together the two eps of Michael Shanks' guest appearance on Stargate Atlantis came damn close to getting that vote. For now, I voted Great!! Excellent!! Wonderful!!

While it does seems as though the cancellation of Atlanis is something set in stone, given the deliberate nature of the decision, fans of Atlantis who would like to try to do something about the cancellation have a couple of outlets.
