I haven't yet (thank you for asking - for even remembering). But a friend of mine seemed very concerned, and he told me he needed time to sort it out before giving me any more information. He seems to have some sort of lead, at least.
That's good that at least you have a lead. Hopefuly you'll be able to figure it all out.
I've been alright, looking forward to this festival, it's been awhile since I got a chance to just kick back and enjoy something like this. How about you, will you be going?
The Buddha... was dying... and he called... the animals to his side... only twelve came... as a reward... the Buddha said that the... twelve-year cycle... should have years with their names... taken from those animals... and those years with that name... would be sacred to those animals...
But in order to choose.... the order... they had a race across a river...
The Ox looked like he was going... to win... but the clever rat... had taken a ride on his... horns... and as they reached the riverbank... the rat jumped onto the shore first... so he won... and took the first year of the cycle...
I will be glad to see you again. It has been a while. Forgive me. I was busy learning a little more about this world. Hmm... You celebrate the other, earlier New Year as well? Would you tell me how the date is chosen for that celebration?
As will I! No apologies necessary, but thank you all the same. I understand how busy things can get here in the City, especially when you're still getting used to it.
Generally, yes, we celebrated the other new year (the Western one, I should say - there are others, too). Our calender has gone through a couple of changes over the years, but I believe the day was originally picked when the Julian calender was created.
Have you ever come across Julius Caesar in your readings before? Fascinating person. He didn't just create a calender, he created an empire.
He was a soldier, a statesman, Tribune of Rome and later offered the title of Dictator for Life. But he didn't take it; he believed Rome should remain a Republic. It didn't, but that's another story.
You would have admired him, I think, he was a genius in many fields. But above all, he had his country's interests first in his heart.
It does tend to give things out on curse days, but they tend to disappear once the curse is over (which is usually a good thing). I did get a raven once, so I was sad to see him go. Have you ever had any pets?
[ooc: So they're about the same age, then. Professor Snape gets to contend with two equally cheeky girls now. XD]

Then you definitely deserve it. I'll be there, too, so we should plan to run into each other.

That was clever of the rat - it feels a little like cheating, but it was resourceful of him, so I can understand why he'd be rewarded.
That's a lovely story. Thank you for sharing it with me. Which year were you born in?

And I've never been to a Chinese New Year celebration before. Should be fun.

Neither have I - did you find a dress in your our closet this morning, too?
[ooc: Between the two of them, there was probably much late night giggling and chatting, methinks. Where in the canon are you taking Ginny from?]

((ooc: X3 I think so too! Ginny is post-DH, but only barely.))
