by bunnythenavia because I've slacked off the past couple of weeks, from lj. I haven't really been slacking off though I've just not been around as much as I'd like because the vividcon Club Vivid vid making rush has begun. I've signed up for 2 vids again this year and like last year, I didn't get my ideas completely formed until about 3 weeks ago which gives me around ( Read more... )

OMG I missed the entry about you going to get married. I'm so lame.
So congratulation! I'm for you. :)
I bet it's all exciting but a little horrible stressing to - so enjoy it while it last's and get to nervous. ;)

It is exciting and I am enjoying it in a way, I know the stress and nerves will kick in nearer the time.

I've just recently(last week) caught up with Torchwood. I'm learning that apparently in the fandom, Gwen isn't very well liked, which is just mind-boggling. And of course it's instilled a burning desire in me to make a "Gwen kicks ass" vid. I'm really happy to hear you have a Torchwood vid in the works.

I hope you change your mind about Sweet Charity. Maybe you could offer a vidlet.

The key to slightly less stressful wedding planning is knowing people who can make the cake and flowers. My friend is doing both for his nephew's wedding. Take the stress off you and put it on friends or family. :)

It's great that you've got into the show and a Gwen vid would be awesome. It seems to be a trait in sci-fi shows female characters are either glorified eye-candy or else fandom pours scorn on them as too fat, too old, not pretty enough, too bossy, too aggressive, too promiscuous, too selfish.

As for Sweet Charity I haven't fully made my mind up yet, I'm open to persuasion.;)

If you only knew my family you'd know why I'm laughing at the idea of them "helping", I do not want my flowers from the nearest service station nor do I want MacDonald's happy meals for my wedding dinner.

(Apparently I have no Torchwood icon, I must do something about that.)

The only thing that's holding me back is the finances.

I shudder to think how much these things might cost today. I still get guilt pangs when I remember how much I spent on the 'dress' :D

The cake sounds wonderful. I actually found the top tier of ours in an airtight tin the other week - we kept it for a christening even though we never intended to have kids. I chiselled off the still exquisite sugar flowers before dumping it. I wish we'd eaten the whole thing at the reception.

Glad to hear you are having fun organising, I loved doing ours.

I won't be having a full length gown more likely a "tea length" dress but the prices really do start to mount up when it's both of our outfits. Still, we're only doing it once and we'll look all purdy. :D

Wow, there's no way cake would stay in my house that long!

Usually not that long either for us but it was definitely forgotten.

You'd be surprised at how fast time flies when your planning. Steph and I were just about ready to kill each other as we got closer and closer to the date, hehe.

The cake was the best! And damn, I guess wedding cakes are expensive no matter where you are. Did you guys get to do a tasting?

There's a bit of a lull in the planning at the moment, the next round is some of the fun stuff, rings, outfits, honeymoon etc. I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities for rows before we get up the aisle.

We did get a small cake sample sent to us by post because we weren't able to get to the baker's shop. It was a very tasty fruit cake and we have been promised a photo of the finished product before the day.
