Valentine set a wrapped package down on the present table, then quietly made his way over to collect some of the food. In the relative chronology of things, he'd arrived from LA not long after uncle Hans had gotten together with Metody.

So in a way, it felt like an anniversary for him as well- the anniversary of them all becoming a family. He watched everyone mulling and well-wishing as he collected his food, a small smile on his face.

It'd been a heck of a year in a lot of ways.

The moment Val got near them, he was accosted by Mr. Skinless and Mothra, both twining around his ankles and hoping for treats. And then Metody snagged him into a hug.

"Hi!"

"Hey uncle Met- happy anniversary!" Val gave him a hug, then looked down at his legs which were tangled with kitties and ribbons.

"Hey guys, take it easy..."

He reached down to pet them both.
