Victor has seen the signs, and, being a total sugar addict, is intrigued by this 'cupcakes are provided' idea. So he goes to investigate at the location specified. He's quite impressed by the spread -- and the cupcakes are beautiful! Almost too good-looking to eat.
Almost. Victor selects a blue cupcake and sets about nomming it. He's distracted halfway through by Senri's comment -- oh, hello there you. "I imagine because people eat them," Victor jokes, smiling. "They are good, though. And so pretty as well."
"Let's see how long it takes me to make one before we start planning a whole rabble." Victor eats a bit more cupcake before answering. "I've done dozens of sketches, and I've made a few 'test' wings for practice, to see how things should link up. Also some legs, but those were actually very simple." Just a matter of getting the joints in the right places for those.
Senri shakes his head and finishes swallowing. "No, I meant... It wouldn't be as much of an accomplishment if it you'd been able to make one quickly. If it was just something anyone could do if they had five minutes and a mind to." The teacup is set aside once more and Senri leans back. "What you and I do isn't so different," he muses.
Senri waves a hand, dismissing the misunderstanding. He likes Victor so the communication flub doesn't matter. Just one of the many perks of being a friend -- you don't get the brunt of his ridiculous personality!
A hum while he collects his thoughts. "Well, you essentially invent butterflies and I invent new clothes. Both require a fair bit of ingenuity and engineering. You have to figure out how to make the wings move and I have to figure out how to make the clothes fit not only on the body but also with the design. Some trial and error. Basically we do the same thing, just applied in different ways." It all makes sense in his head.
Good thing, too, otherwise Victor would never stop being awkward.
Victor thinks about that reasoning as he finishes off the cupcake. "Yes, I can see that," he admits. "Coming up with a plan, figuring out which bits may cause problems, trying various designs. . .same sort of process, just in different fields." He smiles a bit. "And there's colors and patterns to think about as well." Because if one thinks he's leaving his butterfly just plain brass (or whatever color it ends up). . . .
