Wow.

Wow.

Every single word of this is beautiful and painful. Dare I say, this is the darkest and most horrific portrayal of the rise of Crystal Tokyo there is. Every single detail. The crumbling baby. Ceithin becoming this stone cold tyrant. Mina trapped in this state of guilt and hatred for him. Him walking his daughter down the aisle and feeling nothing. And Zach's affairs, with the knowledge that this is just his way of coping. And Usagi, poor Usagi, forced to be the one who destroys everything to save them. And the worst part of all is that this is HOOLIGANS. WHY IS HOOLIGANS SO SAD WHYYYYYY.

Also I love the details about Crystal Tokyo itself. Zach and his genius auto-pilot system.

Yes please tell me this is an AU because I don't think I could take it if this is hanging over Hooligans all along.

now that i've recovered from my misery (A FULL TWENTY OR SO DAYS AFTER READING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME), i must attempt to give this the review it deserves. because really, charlie, how do you do it? you and lytton must have some kind of crazy-brilliant mind meld going on when it comes to crystal tokyo - i'm starting to think it's a more depressing timeline than the silver millennium!

i love the way you describe ceithin's and mina's different ways of approaching the dissolution of their relationship - him avoiding the conflict, her seeking it. even with all the changes we see to their personalities throughout this story - him withdrawing from everything and her acting out - you maintain this sort of essentialness to their characters that keeps them recognizable even as they change and as the world crumbles around them. you keep them really believable, which is something i've always loved about your writing ( ... )

God so hearbreaking, I can't believe you can write something so wonderful and depressive at the same time. Will we read more of what happened after this? I need to know how Mina and Ceithin are going to pull through T T. Anyways great story again, I loved how you went from the present to the past and back again. Cya around!
