I'm with you, I wish we had of seen some of this back history in the show prior to this sad episode. I can't believe how many times I cried watching this one.
I said it on a episode review for the episode, but one thing that surprised me was how there was so much emotion from Olivia in this over the loss of Charlie, versus when John died. It's just....interesting.
I've got some fics I'm working on, but how they will play into the events of this season I'm not yet sure. I may play with them in the alt!verse, but I'm not too sure as yet.
Either way, I can't wait to see 'Charlie' again. I'm kind of hoping for some kind of hug lol But that's just me :D
Oh, and I loved the picture of her and Charlie she had with her!!! It reminds me of fanfics I wrote for other fandoms where the women had these pictures of their partners which they would cry over in a scene not too dissimilar to this one. So I of course cried and squee'd at this scene.
I teared up many a time as well! Perfectly acted by Anna.
I must admit, I was thinking the emotion thing as well, while the whole episode was playing out. We saw things in one episode that she didn't have over John's entire arc. Very bizarre. But nice!
Hurrah for fic! I find with Fringe that I really love writing these two characters, but I very rarely get inspiration. And it's not like I'm not trying!
I would love for Liv to let her guard down and go to hug him, not remembering he's not "her" Charlie. Oh, that's such a cliché... but I still want it. I can't say I wouldn't love for him and alt!Liv to be involved, either.
The picture was probably my favourite part, I wasn't prepared for it at all! Took my breath away a little, as dramatic as that sounds. Sigh.
I agree, those were wonderful scenes, but too late. Why do they give Charlie a backstory right now? Why? I mean, not that I don't want to have everything of Charlie that I can get, but I just wish they would've used his character more in season 1 already.
I almost want to know where the hell his wife is in all this. A scene with her and Liv would have been perfection. I almost expected his grave not to have the word husband on it!!
I hope that if all this business of AU!Peter comes to light - maybe around sweeps - then they'll go back over there and hurrah! Can't see Charlie not being involved with strangers in his city!
I can't wait to see the next episodes; trust me, I'm reading and spoiling myself because I'm in the UK and a few episodes behind so I haven't been commenting yet. I agree it's sad it took this storyline to develop the relationship so many of wanted to see more of. We'll always have the alt!verse though; and flashbacks; and hey, this is Fringe. Anything can happen, right?

And I agree, this is a very useful show to become a fan of someone/something on. There's never a guarantee that it's really gone!
