Today is the last day of my vacation. Something that always creates a certain amount of angst, doesn't it? ::sigh::

I can't stop listening to The Temper Trap, they're awesome. Check out Sweet Disposition, it's great. I'm finding all sorts of good, new music thanks to the fabulous Spotify.com, a streaming music site that is quite innovative. I have ( Read more... )

I think they're vastly different, not just because of the modern-day setting in the tv series, but also because of budget and focus. The BBC version is much more down to earth in one sense, yet still felt distant to the characters. For me Holmes & Watson in the film had explosive chemistry - maybe a lot to do with actors - and so their relationship felt more alive than on tv. I did like the rather melancholy tone of the BBC version, the sepia tones to the settings, the mundane apartment etc. The Brits are so good at such things! The movie is much more gaudy.
