Yesterday we rescued a very ungrateful box turtle from the middle of the road. We picked him up and helped him cross to the other side- but the whole time he was hissing at us from deep inside his shell where he'd retreated, and when we put him on the other side he popped out his headand gave us a rather indignant look like "I had the situation ( Read more... )

And because my mother (with whom we co-habitate, if you recall) has some serious OCD issues, she's bringing in an exterminator on Thursday to kill us all with pesticide poison get rid of the ants and bees that are around the house. Well, the hot water heater is dead. We woke up this morning to rusty hot water all over the place. Fun stuff. Someone's over and (hopefully) doing something about it at the moment. I'm not really good with these sort of situations, so I'm just kind of staying out of the way and hoping that whatever they do gets done quickly and painlessly. I ( Read more... )
