Well, the good part of today was that Wal-Mart didn't show for that hearing (the rescheduled one, because they didn't show for the last one, either) - and didn't call this time, so hopefully unemployment will just say 'Uh, no' if they try again to appeal Aus's claim ( Read more... )

Some of the people who work with the public in public service venues really don't have the temperment to be there. I currently have a crappy HMO. I was dismissed by an emergency room receptionist with a hard irritated look and a dismissive get lost tone when I had a severe migraine and a burst blood vessel in my foot when I feel from the pain. I wanted to kill her with a look but I made sure I limped outta there with my dignity.

It's like, get the DMV employees outta healthcare and unemployment; in fact get 'em outta th DMV too.

I and many others have often felt that jump over the counter urge with the UK jobcentres too. Their staff can often be guilty of dismissive or condescending tones, treating you like a child or a criminal, giving superior smirks and generally not living in the real world in their dealings. Some of them enjoy their position to make things as hard as possible.
