So, I think I submitted the Supernatural essay. At least, the email didn't bounce back to me. I woke up in the middle of the night realising that there'd also been no acknowledgment of its arrival and I have no idea whether the thing made it. But, I have done all I can - it's off. They're only choosing THREE? Seriously? How ridiculous -- look for a second venue for it.

Three from this competition - the rest I guess are solicited.

I'm seriously thinking about that CFP you mentioned. Tweaking a bit to make it fit the apocalyptic theme. But maybe.

Why would they solicit papers? Silly people, when a CFP will do wonders.

Hurrah for sending it in. Double hurrah for you posting it here. I have SPN obsessive fans on my flist, so I will totally pimp it!

And one thing you can be certain of: if you hadn't submitted, it DEFINITELY wouldn't have been one of the three, so you're no worse off ;) (I have to tell myself this sort of thing regularly!)

So, what was your essay on? Did you do a John one? I'd love to read it whatever it is. If they're only choosing three, and many brilliant people like us *grins* are submitting, there's going to be lots of good ones that just don't make it into the book. I wonder if supernatural.tv can find a way of making all of the submissions are available, because I'd like to read them all.

No, it wasn't about John, though I did include a little bit of analysis of John as an example of a "flawed human."

I will definitely be posting the essay if it is not one of the ones selected, and I hope everyone else does, too! Actually it's a great suggestion to put them up on supernatural.tv. Maybe on the discussion boards somewhere?

We should ask Dawn if we can do that in June after the winners are announced.

Good idea. I know pretty much nothing about the supernatural.tv people, beyond liking the site, so if you know who to contact about it and suggest it, that's be great. I'd love to read them all.
