How strange how you talk about tOSU needing to try their other goaltenders on the night when UNO put out their third-stringer for his first start in a year and a half and he was fucking magic. The entire crowd was chanting his name at the end; I was seriously on the verge of tears up on press row when that happened.

if he played against tOSU he'd have shut them out. historically they have never done well against unfamiliar goalies.

While you were watching that OSU fiasco, I was watching my nephew's pee-wee team draw with a bunch of goons from Athens. 1-1. One of the kids from our side was given a hard butt-spear in the chest and crumpled to the ice, screaming his head off. No penalty. There were a ton of checks from behind not called. One occasion saw an Athens player pinning the Columbus kid to the ice, face-down, with his stick in the kid's back. No penalty. One of the Columbus kids tapped one of the Athens kids on the leg with his stick; and after a bad dive by the Athens kid, a tripping call was assessed. But when an Athens guy stuck his stick between a Columbus player's legs and the Columbus guy goes down, no penalty. When the kid who was speared was down and being attended to by the medical staff, a parent from my nephew's team started shouting something at one of the refs and got run.

I realize these refs are calling a pee-wee game because they're not that good, but it was just inexcusably horrible.
