went to the ohio state hockey game this afternoon. they played robert morris. they're out of pittsburgh. small school with uniforms that have fonts like the sam adams beer label.
that said the buckeyes played terrible. i sat with the regulars and we essentially sat there and ragged on the goaltending and defense for about two hours. why markell keeps starting palmer in net is beyond me. he gives up rebounds you can see from space. can it get any worse by replacing him with carlson or filion? watched senior defensemen give up the puck in their own end, resulting in two goals. horrible play by biondo and desantis, both of whom should know better.
one good thing, hell the only good thing, was the university curtained off the entire upper level. gives more intimacy and brightness to the arena. too bad few fans are there to see them.
a better idea may be to shield the playing area with the curtain, sparing the few that dare to enter from viewing three periods of dreadful hockey.
the team has one point in its last ten games.
watching the blue jackets/red wings game. tied at four very late in the game. rick nash remains the shit. zherdev is playing very well. the defense and leclaire and not having good nights. in fact, hitch pulled pascal off the ice for a few minutes and replaced him with norrena. the coach and his goalie had a little talk on the bench. worked a little bit.
osgood is standing on his head for detroit.
