The very first thing I ever wrote in the autistic/neurodiversity world: http://neurodiversity.com/weblog/article/71/

We choose freely, as anyone does. Sometimes we choose wrongly; but we do, as any human, have free will.

Yup.

A lot of people conceive of evil as something that only exists within certain people, or certain groups of people. (There's a true crime show about serial killers called "Most Evil"; there are phrases like "evil empire" and "axis of evil"). Or, more specifically, a lot of us think that there are "good" people and "bad" people--but it doesn't work that way. We are all capable of doing evil things.

I can't tell if its your estrogen, or your overly compassionate religion that is clouding your judgment. Its very simple, people with AS have many symptoms (narcissism, sociopath, anger control issues) that make them more prone to commit certain crimes. The human brain is a compute, the output you get from it varies based on life experiences and genetic / environmental conditions. Knowing this, every bad decision a person makes can be linked back to some underlying cause. At which point do you separate personal responsibility and being a victim? You're a democrat aren't you?

I probably wont read your reply (if any), so feel free to email it to me blake@null3d.com

Not a democrat, actually. A little on the conservative side of center. Don't suppose you've read my previous blog posts on the existence of evil ( ... )

Your view on one subject, has almost no significance to the picture as a whole. I am not going to argue with you about common symptoms of Aspergers, google is your friend. I am glad that at the very least, you got a chuckle out of my post. Most people take me too seriously :] I would wager that most of the truly great serial killers had symptoms of AS.

Hmm, thought you weren't gonna read this? :D

Trust me, Google is NOT your friend when there's still so much bad publicity surrounding autism. If Google had existed in the 1950s or before, you would have gotten similar results for black people.

Yes, it is possible that an autistis person could simply just also be a criminal but unfortunately it is more prabable that an autistic person is turned into a criminal simply because he doesn't understand the rules. My son is often harrassed by police believing he is intoxicated and his reluctance for eye contact makes them think he is hiding something and his misunderstanding of language is perceived as sarcasm. His license was suspended and he thought it meant he couldnt take it to school. So he drove again and lost his privileges to drive til 2012. Now he even gets pulled over on his bicicle and when asked if he was on something he sincerely anwered I'm on my bike. When back up arrived a few minuts later he got scared and ran home. They surrounded the house and when I arrived I got him to come out. He is a criminal now.

Misunderstandings are not crimes. Your son isn't a criminal any more than I'd be a criminal if I had a grand mal seizure and accidentally punched somebody who got too close ( ... )
