Indiana, Zombies

Yesterday I went with the girls to celebrate another friend's birthday at French Lick, Indiana.  The hotel we were at was insanely cool.  Blow-my-mind amazing restoration of historic luxury hotel.

Fun time, highlights include *attractive, wealthy gay men buying dinner * same men getting drunk and making us straight girls laugh our tails off *lovely ( Read more... )

Sounds like a fun party! And the smuggling of alcohol always makes it taste better, don't you think? ;D

Late night booty calls though... I don't get them. About 99% of them are made while incredibly drunk. Drinking plus being totally tired does not a good night in bed make. Maybe I'm just still annoyed from how many guys I had to yell at in the middle of the night when they called for my roommate in college though, lol. She was -ahem- a popular girl.

It's my personal opinion that car accidents almost always have a careless person involved. Even when people say, "Oh, there was something wrong with my brakes!" (which is BS most of the time anyway), I want to ask them when they got their brakes last serviced. I have a feeling that my feelings on this will grow stronger in a very short time too, lol.

It was really fun :) I sure wouldn't have been able to afford $10 bourbon and diet for long! $10 for a well drink was a new one for me. Lots of drinking, lots of silliness. And an unfortunate appearance of "it's all about me". High maintenance people can be so tiring.

This dude was definitely drunk and I was not interested in finding out where he got my number. Fortunately it seems an isolated occurrence.

There are so many awful drivers out there. I can with 99% certainty say that he or she was going a little too fast and either talking on the phone or doing some other thing that took their attention off what was going on in font of them. Then OOPS! brake lights! And they can't stop in time.

This is the worst place I've ever lived for people running stop signs and not signaling the intent to turn. But I think there are shitty drivers everywhere. Good luck with 'em LOL

I was shocked. I don't shock easy.

This season looks promising. I may have to go back and watch the episodes set in Atlanta, since I only half-watched or straight-up skipped them.

My parents told me about that hotel, they stayed there last year! Thanks for the link, I like reading about the origins.

One server for 35 people is inexcusable. There should have been at least three, probably four... if the prices were where I imagine.

More and more inattentive drivers these days. I just try to leave extra, EXTRA room now between my car and the one in front, though that tends to invite tailgaters and people who dive in front of you without any indication of their intention!

Sounds like you had a nice weekend, all in all! I need to go rake leaves and do laundry today because all I did this weekend was help kids with homework projects, watch football and eat, lol!

It was amazing. Beautiful. The girls are starting to plan a mini-vacation there for next year...or whenever we can afford it.

We were at three tables, each with 11 or 12 people. They should have given each table a server. It was weird too because it seemed like the kitchen couldn't handle such a large party, but they do it all the time! shaking my head

I see talking on the phone all the time. I know people can hold a headset up to their face and chat, but the whole parting of looking at the phone and pushing buttons--their attention is not where it should be! Seeing people texting makes me rage.

Oh Yes! Very nice weekend. And now time to pay--still haven't started laundry and I have sheets to change (yay flannel sheets!) meaning extra loads. And I have to do my volunteer stuff with the cats and Scout has her first physical therapy appointment this afternoon, so I have to pick her up early from school. But first I have to print out the new patient forms and fill them out. I guess it's time to get off the internet!

Ugh, so glad that I haven't had to deal with the bridge issue. Even out here, 15-20 minutes away, it has affected the timing of traffic flows ( ... )

The bridge stuff is crazy. I was talking to one of the moms at dance class tonight. She lives in IN and sees people's patience and tolerance going down the toilet already--people cutting each off, road rage, line cutting. Not good. There will be more accidents, leading to more back-ups, leading to more frustration.

The appointment with the PT was good. Your daughter should look into it--they really know their stuff. The trick of course is paying for it. Some insurance reimbursement is decent--others treat it like fringe medical service and barely cover it. I wish her good luck@

My daughter may sue. She has mentioned it and gathered paperwork, but I don't know that she has made a firm decision. She had huge knots on the top of her feet and the doctor that walmart sent her to said that her pain was psychological. We got a second opinion. Walmart only paid for a short period of physical therapy. She's fortunate that she is a U of L student and can get inexpensive medical care.
