Scout spent the night out last night, I was up late angsting about the Packer game, and Stuart said he would take care of the dogs when the alarm went off--a trifecta of circumstances that somehow equaled me sleeping until 9. On a weekday. Such a rare occurrence...the ivory-billed woodpecker sighting of my life.
Busy day. Got a video game and

I understand about the Nook thing. Books are fabulous the way they are, and it'd be nice if they didn't mess with that. But I also realize that it's probably the next step. I'm just resistant, lol.

Adding a dog is a big deal, but in some ways it makes a ton of sense. I know mine love to have a doggie friend to play with--they are social creatures after all. And ours have had very little seapration anxiety issues.
The Nook is something I would never buy on my own. But neither was my laptop and I can't even imagine life without it. I'll get used to it. I've read many testimonials of former book addicts who adore their e-reader to the point of being annoyed when forced to read a book book.

I really wish I could see the lunar eclipse tonight, but the weather is not cooperating. Very disappointed!
Have a wonderful night :)

I am so torn on the kitties! We don't need any more animals, but I love them. I do.

On the other hand, kittens are sooooo sweet, and warm and playful and warm-in-the-lap...
Husbands are no help in these matters and I suspect neither am I, lol! (Let's see... two pigs, two poodles, two fish and far too many orchids. Not to mention a pet husband and two kids who want to be pets. Yeah, don't ask me.)
As for the Nook, I have the same reservations as you do. I LOVE paper so I somehow doubt holding a device with a screen is going to be the same for me. It won't smell right, for one thing.
Hooray for getting shopping done! Post office ahoy!

Time to go do my errand-running thing. I may swing by the pet store to visit those black kitties ;P

Ahahahahaha, I like your hubby's way of thinking! :D One can never have enough cats in my estimation.
And it is gorgeous how could you not! *googly eyes at kitten*
I did pick up some Richard Scarry books for the Wisconsin nephews. And Huckle Cat and Lowly Worm dolls.
I TOTALLY just bought one of the DVDs at Target from the TV show, because OMG, MOAR CHILDHOOD <3 <3 <3 Richard Scarry is teh awesome. And its a good example of the type of book that just isn't as fun if you can't hold it in your hands and turn the pages, IMO.
You'll probably be more accepting of an e-reader than you think, considering how much fanfic you've read on the computer, but I feel you. I love books far, far too much to give them up as my main source of non-fanfic-reading *sigh* I'm already trying to decide which ones I'm taking with me when I move!
Totally missed the eclipse...it was too late here, anyway, since some of us still have to get up and go to work *grumble*

I love Richard Scarry :D The detail in his books is wonderful. Some of Scout's favorites.
I have read a lot of stuff about book junkies who now love their e-readers, so I imagine I'll convert. Yes, I read a ton online...but books! *flails*

I don't think I ever will. LOL, I feel so old when I say that, but its true! Considering how much of my free time is spent trawling through thrift stores looking for books from my youth? Yeah. I have a big issue with buying something I'll never actually *own*. It's not like books are a service or anything... *shrug*
*shakes cane at teenagers*
