Ratatosk again.

I was charged with guarding the Giant Kharlan Tree a long time ago. It was important to the world-central in the world’s mana distribution. Without it the world would have slowly died, and there would have been much disaster. Not too different from what that book said, but it also got who I was wrong. What kind of consequences?

Bad ones? I'm sorry, I'm not the one who wrote that. All that seems kind of familiar now that I think about it, but probably not the same way it was for him.

Why don't you call him back to write? Hm . . .

Would that work? I guess I could try.

...

No. I don't think it worked.

A spirit who guards a tree... That sounds kinda rough.

Yeah. The tree was really important. Lloyd said it also held two worlds together, in addition to what Ratatosk wrote. I can't imagine what it must have been to have that kind of responsibility.

No kidding. With that much responsibility, it makes me wonder why the scarab was so adamant about attacking Ratatosk earlier... It certainly doesn't sound like he was dangerous from what you're saying.

Maybe it's because of the tree? I mean, if it was so important whoever had to guard tree had to be able to protect it from any threats. So maybe the spirit who had to make sure it was safe was really powerful, which would mean the scarab took him as a threat too.

(...Didn't Professor Klarth compare Ratatosk to a minor god? And he's possessing me? How did I ever get myself into this?)

Goodness, that's quite a responsibility!

It is, isn't it?

That's twice now that he's written something and then disappeared. I wonder if there's something else he's not saying.

Maybe there's more to it then what he remembers...

...Did this get eaten? chaos_squirrel February 7 2010, 22:28:03 UTC
Yeah, he did say something like that. Something other than the tree...but what could be worse than the tree dying?

The Giant Kharlan Tree . . . ? Another name for Yggdrasil? Do you share duties with Martel?

Um, this is Emil again. I don't think I remember things as clearly as Ratatosk does, but I think he worked alone. Do you really think he could have worked with a goddess?

shoukanjutsu February 8 2010, 04:18:57 UTC
Ah. I wasn't speaking of the goddess, but the Spirit Martel. The guardian of Yggdrasil in my time.

There's a new guardian? And that one's named Martel, too?

Maybe that's why Ratatosk hasn't been appearing very much. Maybe's he's upset that he was replaced?
