Maou producer's blog translation
Finally, I manage to get some work done. Have decided to translate Maou's producer (Watanabe) blog, from the official Maou website. He writes some interesting behind-the-scenes stuff & after reading them, I like Oh-chan more & more~ He is just too kawaii~
I only translated the parts that contain Oh-chan, so sometimes the content does not really link. It's more like snippets of Oh-chan. ^_^ I'll update if he writes something new about Oh-chan again.Btw, he does call Ohno 'Oh-chan' in his blog~ And everything is in his point of view. Words in grey are my side-notes/comments:)

Vol. 4 18/06/2008 - Rain Man
When Oh-chan arrives on set, the sky would start to get cloudy & grey and very soon, raindrops would come pouring down. When it comes to Oh-chan, even weather reports are just like a pipe dream.
Because in the morning, even when the weather report stated the weather would be clear & sunny, it will evetually still start raining. And when Oh-chan leaves the set, the sun comes out.
Hence, Oh-chan is definitely the ‘rain man’ on the Maou set. Perhaps this image is fitting for Maou…
At least Oh-chan is happy. He goes fishing whenever filming is cancelled because of the rain. ^.^
Vol. 5 20/06/2008 - Nino ♥
The surprise guest in Episode 1 is Ninomiya Kazunari!
In order to support Riida in his first lead-role drama, his (Nino’s) very busy schedule has been adjusted in order to make time for the filming of the guest appearance in Maou.
With an Arashi member around, Oh-chan looks very relaxed on the set. During breaks in between filming, they can be seen sitting next to each other, with smiles on their faces.
I felt Arashi is really close.
When it’s time to film, the atmosphere changes & both showed superb acting skills.
Even though it’s just a short guest appearance, Ninomiya-san was very serious & passionate. He discussed on how to improve the scene with Oh-chan & the director.
Nino is so sweet to Oh-chan~ I realise Nino always supprt Oh-chan in his individual work. Eg. Ohno 3104 solo concert, Nino made a cameo appearance as Ohmiya SK. And in 2006 AAA concert I think, Nino wore Oh-chan's solo concert wristband (the blue colour one). Apparently I heard Oh-chan asked if Nino would wear it & Nino did~ Nino was also involved in Oh-chan freestyle exhibition. You know the baseball figure, that was Nino's idea. And now in Maou too... It's Nino's first time making a guest appearance in other people's drama. Sorry for the rant. Ohmiya saikou! ♥
Vol. 11 07/07/2008 - Red Room Oh-chan
‘The Red Room Oh-chan’/ ‘Akai heya no Oh-chan’ (as named by the staff) is really scary~
Oh-chan look so much like a Maou (devil), everyone was surprised.
Honestly, I was surprised & his acting skills is much better than I expected.
It’s scary.
I can sense fear from his expressionless face.

For the past few consecutive days, filming timings has been from morning all the way till late night.
Toma has been drinking his energy drink & running all over the place.
Oh-chan has been memorizing the dance steps for the new song while filming Maou.
Yes, Oh-chan did a great job in Maou! I hope he acts in more dramas in the future.
Vol. 12 11/07/2008 - Man without any wants
The first episode’s response was great. The audience responses were “It’s interesting!”, “Can’t wait for the next episode!” etc.
I asked Oh-chan about what the fishing boat captain that he frequents to thinks about Maou. Oh-chan says he does not know his contact number.
I was surprised that Oh-chan does not know the captain’s number because he has spoken about the captain on several occasions.
Then Oh-chan says: “So in order to get the captain’s opinions on Maou, I have to go fishing right? Can I go?”
You just want to go fishing, don’t you!!
Rather than people’s response to your own drama, you are more concern about fishing.
Rather than ratings, you are more concern about kurodai (a fish’s name).

I have not seen Oh-chan & Toma-kun for a while and I was shocked when I saw them because they both lost a lot of weight. Their faces become so thin.
Sorry about that. Filming outdoors from morning till night is really tough.
It’s proof that both of them work hard in order to produce the best drama they can.
*LOL* Oh-chan really wants to go fishing eh? The reason he gave is just kawaii~ Like a primary school kid XD He is such a simple person, satisfied with what he has. I wish I could be like that...
Vol. 13 25/07/2008 - truth
The theme song ‘truth’ sang by Arashi is just way too cool!
All Maou staff like it too & you can always hear someone humming it on the set.
A few days back, during studio filming, I heard ‘truth’ coming from Oh-chan’s dressing room. When I asked, he said he was practising the dance steps for ‘truth’.
Having to practice dance steps during the breaks between filming - It’s really tough being a star.
And it seems like ‘truth’ dance steps is really difficult.
Even ‘The dance master - Ohno Satoshi’ says he has a hard time memorizing it.
But tomorrow is the filming of the PV, I hope the PV will be real cool!
I want to see it soon!

Vol. 19 21/08/2008 - Oh-chan bringing his fishing rod to work...
Oh-chan brought his fishing rod to the set. He is blatantly commiting a crime just like Naruse Ryo. (Note: Ohno has been ‘prohibited’ from fishing by Toma & Maou staff because he gets sunburnt & his complexion would be too dark for a lawyer.)
At this, I said: “The fish are innocent! I don’t want anymore victims to suffer!” ( This is sort of like Toma/Naoto’s lines in Episode 9 - “The people around me did not commit any crimes. I don’t want any more victims to appear.”)
Then Oh-chan replied: “After I catch the fish, I release them.” (That is he doesn’t kill/eat them)
It seems like Oh-chan always bring the fishing rod around & if there is an ocean nearby, he will get really excited.
Well, since filming is so tough, guess it’s okay to relax a bit.
*LOL* Oh-chan blatanly commiting a crime like Naruse! Way to go, Oh-chan! The producer is so funny too, saying the fishes are innocent. And Oh-chan just had to reply that he lets them go. Kawaii~
Vol.23 29/08/2008 - Oh-chan, the camera man?!
During the filming break, suddenly, the image of Maou’s staff appeared on the monitor.
And the one who was filming the staff is Oh-chan.
Oh-chan challenged the camera man & instead of the one being filmed, he said he wants to do the filming sometimes. His innocent face when peeping though the camera, happily zooming in on the make-up staff & filming other camera man…
This scene of Oh-chan having fun was filmed.
Oh-chan looking very happy, being completely opposite of Maou - The staff can’t help but feel happy & at ease.
Toma-kun commented with a smile: “Looks like Maou is having fun.”
Will this scene appear in the DVD as special footage?!
Oh-chan kawaii~ I think his relationship with the staff is pretty good. I SO want to see this! Please include it in the DVD!!!
