Miss 2008.11 feat. Aiba + Meme!
As requested by snoew, here's the translation of Nov's Miss, featuring Aiba. It such a LONGGGG interview~~~ I was translating it on Microsoft word... And I checked the word count after I finish... Its 2100+ words! No wonder I took so long^^ Snow-chan~~~ I'll be waiting for my macaroons & logcakes! XD
But anyway, the interview was very interesting! Although he is not my ichiban, niban or sanban...^^ But I like him more after this interview! He's such a nice guy!^_^

Putting himself in the first position, Aiba-kun stood in front of the camera and he looked very pretty & elegant. Though Aiba-kun is known for his healing aura & his 'natural airhead' character, but he gave off an adult aura and makes your heart flutter with excitement. Then, the next moment, he helped the mini pig that almost fell off. He looked at it very gently and after a while, he nuzzled his head close to the mini pig.
"When coming in contact with animals, don't do it suddenly. If you hug it suddenly, it'll get a shock. If you wait, the animal will get close to you on its own.

I am also being my most natural self. When you're acting or playing a certain role, somehow there is a filter. Although you'll show the character that you made up, but when it's with animals, there is no filter. It's totally Aiba Masaki."
Talking about being natural, in Himitsu no Arashi-chan, he was also being his most natural when taking care of the babies.
"All the members got the certificate for childminder. How to bathe them, how to change diapers, how to do CPR and about child psychology. Then after that there was a written test. It's been a long time since I have sat for a test. I was more nervous for it than for work (laughs).
It's so like him to be nervous for a written test XD I guess Ohno would be too :p The other 3 will do great though^^
Though babies are cute, they are really quite a handful. When you carry them, you'll feel that a life is in your hands & you have to be responsible for them. It was a tiring day for us. But it was a good experience. Mothers have to do that everyday. I think Mothers are really noble.
Babies are fine, but I want to try doing childminder with kids that are 4-5 years old. I feel that I can relate to them with the childlike-ness in me (laughs). I think I can hold a conversation with them easily."

"Until before I entered primary school, I was staying with my grandparents and was raised by them. My parents went for training in making Chinese cuisine. But I didn't feel lonely. Now that I think about it, I'm really grateful. My grandparents took me to lots of places so that I won't feel lonely. We didn't have a car but they put me at the back of a bicycle & they took me to movie theatres, watch baseball game & etc. I also play catch ball with my Grandpa. My grandparents are like my friends. When my parents come back once a week, I'm very happy. When they come back, I'll wait up till 12-1am for them though I was still a kindergarden kid. My grandparents went to sleep already & I'll watch television alone while waiting for them. I started watching late night programmes since then."

Being loved & raised well during his childhood, probably that's why Aiba-kun is a considerate & gentle person.
After entering primary school, he stayed with his parents & his mischivieous levels went all the way up.
"There is definitely one noisy kid in the class. And that part of me can still be seen in variety shows. Though I was a noisy kid, I still get a lot of chocolates during Valentine's Day. But I didn't aim to be the popular type, I wanted to be the sportsman type. I always participate in relay matches then. I did baseball & basketball too. Though I was the captain for the basketball team, I didn't lead my team and just had fun myself. I can't be a leader. I knew that since I was in primary school (laughs).
In junior high school, I was a very normal teenager. There was another Johnny Junior in the same year as me. I asked him how to go about sending my documents to Johnnys. I didn't think I would get selected, but somehow I was. But at that time, it felt more like after school club activities for me, I didn't think of it as a job yet. Before I became Arashi, I thought of following my father's footsteps to become a Chinese chef. Now, my brother is working hard, learning how to cook."
When Arashi was formed in Sept 1999, that was when Idol-Aiba Masaki, started. This few years, Arashi's popularity has been sky-rocketing. Does Aiba-kun feels so himself?
"For me, Arashi has been popular since the first year we debut (laughs). That's how we have come so far today. But our concert venues are getting bigger & bigger. Last year when we had the concert tour in the 5 domes, I felt it was really a big event. But even if the venues become bigger, the way we do our concert doesn't change. The most important thing is for everyone to enjoy themselves. Rather than just following us, it would be good if the audience join in & have fun together with us (laughs). Everyone in Arashi thinks the same too.
And this year, in a few weeks time, we'll be doing a concert in Kokuritsu. Everyone says 'Arashi is awesome!' But it's because of the fans that Arashi is still here. The fans travel all the way to come and watch us perform & that's why we can hold a concert. I mean, if you just want to see us, you can see us on TV all the time. But spending money to buy the tickets and coming all the way to the concert venue... That makes me feel very touched. So we do our best on concerts for the fans who support us."

"Being together with everyone" Aiba-kun's thought - pure & strong. But on the other hand, he does have his own insecurities/worries & he says it frankly. This is also very like him.
"Really, because of the nature of this job, you won't know what will happen tomorrow. Even if you think about it, you can't get an answer. But the more you think about it, you'll start to get a bit obsessed. There're days where you'll start to feel down & depressed. At times like this, I'll go and have a drink by myself. It'd be cool if I go to a bar, but I usually go to a izakaya (it's also a place for drinking beer) (laughs).
Aww~ Being in the entertainment industry is really stressful ne~ Poor Aibaba~
I also like to talk to seniors. TOKIO's Yamaguchi-kun always takes me to surfing. I also have meals with Kokubun Taichi-kun & V6's Sakamoto-san sometimes. Matsuoka-kun sometimes call me in the middle of the night & asks me to go out. There is a lot I can learn from seniors & I think juniors are cute. Humans find support in other people."
As a 26 year old young man, what do you think about love & marriage?
"So far, the people that I liked doesn't have anything much in common. I don't really have a specific type that I like. But basically, I like those that are steady, natural, whom I can feel relax being with. And 'sometimes can get high tension too' type (laughs). Previously I went snorkelling at Okinawa. I saw lots of corals & fishes. It was all guys but I thought it would be fun if your date can come along. An outdoor date. Like golf, camping etc. I think I'll fall in love with the girl I pitch a tent with.

Marriage...My image of marriage is building a new home, slightly further away from the city. Because it's expensive in the city centre (laughs). Dogs? But firstly, you must make sure your family's relationship is stablised before getting one. If not, the dog will be very pitiful. I'll like to play catch ball with my kids in the garden. Whether my kids are boys or girls, I'll still play catch ball with them. I think that's a good form of comnunication."

In Arashi, who looks like the one that'll be the first to get married & form a family?
"I have no idea. I don't that image in my head. But I would to see everyone's babies. If there's some features that looks alike to the dad, it'll be very interesting."

What do you think about Arashi's charm/appeal?
"The way we work so hard. Like a cool blue flame that works hard and becomes a fiery red flame. It's not a major league. But if others are ichirou (he's a baseball coach), then we are like amatuer baseball. No matter what, just hit! (laughs). The members are all cool in their own ways but if you put them together, that's how Arashi takes shape, like mud/play-doh. Eh? Explain their personality one by one, it's hard to put it in words. I haven't tried analysing member's personalities before.

Ohno-kun doesn't talk much but when he's interested in the topic, he'll talk a lot. Although it may seem hard to catch him, but I know what he is thinking about, or at least that's what I think (laughs).
MatsuJun looks good/ is handsome. Because of that, he has the amatuer baseball spirit. He has never thought about letting go of the bat before (ie. he works very hard).

Nino is the one that has known me for the longest time since Junior days. If he likes something, he'll become obsessed with it. Like recently, he started doing magic. He is so good at it that it surprised me.
Sho-chan is a serious person. He works hard & plays hard. I like his seriousness.
And me, everyone says I am like a kid.
Our future? I don't know. But we can only do our best for every job that we have. It'll definitely be connected to next year, the year after that & to the future."
Although he said this gently, it was something that will not waver. Arashi is a crystallization of hard work. They work hard single-mindedly & now that they have been shot into stardom, they'll have to work even harder. Aiba-kun loves Arashi from the bottom of his heart & he feels proud of Arashi.
Arashi has overcomed gender, age, occupation & has a wide fanbase. Especially women in their 30s. This is when the society is very harsh, in love & in work, many things don't go as planned. But if you work hard, a bright smile will come you naturally - Arashi has taught people this. If you know Arashi, life's hope will increase.

Riida: UFO (Unidentified Flying object)
Riida is a strange & mysterious guy. Everyone must be wondering "What's he thinking about?" Riida has some aspects that does not seem to be that of an Earthling. And 'flying object' doesn't seem to be an animal either (laughs). But I can't describe him as an animal.
UFO?! *rofl* Riida is THAT strange to you? I know he is odd sometimes but...Haha.
Matsujun: Rhinoceros
He's not totally a cool guy. He'll do anything... or rather he can do anything. And he'll go straight forward, very strong. But surprisingly, he is quite attached to people/touchy. That's why he's a rhino. I rode one before so I know.

Nino: Dog
I have known him for a long time. What kind of person is he like again? (laughs) Unnn... Nino is very attached to people/touchy, cute...he'll be obsessed with things for a long time, like game and etc. He pursues it narrowly & deeply. And I think he is an animal that can get close to humans easily so he's like a dog. What breed of dog? I'll try to observe the next time.

Sho-chan: Penguin
Why is this so? Because our actions/movements overlap 80% of the time. Going to the same restuarant coincidentally and etc. Sho-chan has his serious & not serious side, so he's like an amphibian, can live on both land & water. King penguin is smart ne. It is clever to keep it's egg warm between it's feet.
It's weird how he suddenly explains how a penguin takes care of its young^^
Me: Dolphin
Rather than saying that it describes me, it's more like I want to be come like this. I swam with dolphins recently (24H TV) and it was very fun. It's eyes are very good. It feels like I can communicate my feelings to it. But I may not be as smart as a dolphin (laughs).

Nino is the one that has known me for the longest time since Junior days. If he likes something, he'll become obsessed with it. Like recently, he started doing magic. He is so good at it that it surprised me.

Although he said this gently, it was something that will not waver. Arashi is a crystallization of hard work. They work hard single-mindedly & now that they have been shot into stardom, they'll have to work even harder. Aiba-kun loves Arashi from the bottom of his heart & he feels proud of Arashi.

Riida: UFO (Unidentified Flying object)
Riida is a strange & mysterious guy. Everyone must be wondering "What's he thinking about?" Riida has some aspects that does not seem to be that of an Earthling. And 'flying object' doesn't seem to be an animal either (laughs). But I can't describe him as an animal.

Matsujun: Rhinoceros
He's not totally a cool guy. He'll do anything... or rather he can do anything. And he'll go straight forward, very strong. But surprisingly, he is quite attached to people/touchy. That's why he's a rhino. I rode one before so I know.

Nino: Dog
I have known him for a long time. What kind of person is he like again? (laughs) Unnn... Nino is very attached to people/touchy, cute...he'll be obsessed with things for a long time, like game and etc. He pursues it narrowly & deeply. And I think he is an animal that can get close to humans easily so he's like a dog. What breed of dog? I'll try to observe the next time.

Sho-chan: Penguin
Why is this so? Because our actions/movements overlap 80% of the time. Going to the same restuarant coincidentally and etc. Sho-chan has his serious & not serious side, so he's like an amphibian, can live on both land & water. King penguin is smart ne. It is clever to keep it's egg warm between it's feet.
It's weird how he suddenly explains how a penguin takes care of its young^^
Me: Dolphin
Rather than saying that it describes me, it's more like I want to be come like this. I swam with dolphins recently (24H TV) and it was very fun. It's eyes are very good. It feels like I can communicate my feelings to it. But I may not be as smart as a dolphin (laughs).
