a week back i played around with my dad's white collared long sleeved shirt. the original plan was to wear it as a slouchy shirtdress, cinched at the waist with a belt, but alas it was too short. so i did a Marc Jacobs take on my "big loose" shirt instead..

inspiration:

my outfit:

white shirt - Van Heusen men's size 15 & a 1/2 (39cm)
navy culottes - part of a school uniform ;)
leather obi belt - Far East Plaza, $35
red patent pointy heels - Tinkerbelle Exclusive, $29.90

closeup of shirt:

sideview of culottes:

you'll notice the collar of the shirt is asymmetrical. that's because i buttoned the buttons one hole down from their original positions. i love asymmetry. there's also a practical reason -- this method of buttoning makes the shirt tighter.

bag to carry with this outfit:

clutch - Pierre Cardin, $109

some days you wonder if a d&d dress is really worth your money when you can only ever wear it a few times in your life. and then one day while looking through archives of runway collections, creativity suddenly hits you bam! like a bolt in the blue and you'll say, why haven't i thought of that before?

the original dress

dress from chinatown, $48

inspiration:

Paul & Joe for limited edition; editorial from unknown magazine

here goes several outfits, all with the top part of the dress above the cute pleats folded in to form a pseudo high waisted skirt:

1. because i'm in love with monochrome.. this retains more or less the same silhouette, but in black and white for a chanelesque feel.

white sleeveless top - Mango, has cap sleeves which i folded in, $18

2. as you can see, i love big loose shirts :)

white collared shirt, unbuttoned, panels folded back and wrapped one over the other - brandless. probably a school shirt.
dark red belt - OG
