I'm back (for real this time)!

Hello Livejournal, remember me? It seems like forever since my last post, but I'll try to give a bit of a recap of what I've been doing since then.

I went to California to visit some friends, and of course to wincon (both of which I'll definitely be posting about, using the oh-so-handy backdate feature. Since I returned in October, I finally managed to get a job (!) and have been either working, cleaning, playing games on my PS2 (why yes, I am a geek), or going to the chiropractor to help my shoulders.

Basically my job has entailed a lot of typing, for more or less eight hours a day. I'm really not used to that, and as a result, my shoulders massively tightened up (both shoulders and across my back). I had to miss work once, and I've been going to the chiropractor about 1-2 times a week since then. I was told last week that I didn't have to come back unless I have a problem, but hopefully it won't bother me too much until at least February.

Why February? Well, my insurance expires at the end of this month, and the plan that I've got to replace it sucks hard core. I get a total of five doctor's visits for the entire year. Yeah. And I highly doubt that chiropractors are covered. So, hopefully I'll find out soon whether or not the place I'm working is going to hire me permanently (I'm working here through an agency ATM). Because that'll mean good benefits! And a pay raise, which would rule. This job is not too bad, although it can be a bit boring from time to time since I don't have much variation in what I'm doing. At least we get to listen to whatever music we want, though. If I had to listen to another one of those crappy local radio stations all day, I might have to kill myself.

So, that pretty much brings you up to date on me (sad, I know). Today's my first day back from the Christmas break. I am so exhausted today for some reason. I didn't spend my entire vacation getting up late or anything. In fact, yesterday I had to get up earlier than usual so that we could leave to drive home. I'm so glad tomorrow's Friday at any rate.

Christmas was very nice this year. Almost everyone was able to make it, although my cousin B and his wife H were not there as usual (they've been going to her family's place, which is fine, but it means that a bunch of us who don't live in Charlotte never get to see them). And my poor cousin A has strep throat! She was contagious earlier this week, so she couldn't come. Her dad stayed home with her, and her mom and brother came. They went straight back home on Christmas Eve night after our celebration was over, which definitely had to suck, since they live a couple of hours away and it was pretty late by then.

I got some nice gifts--er, gift cards, that is. Barnes and Noble and Sephora. Parents and I still have to exchange gifts, but so far I've liked everything I've gotten. Although I wish it was a Borders gift card, rather than B&N, since Borders a)is closer and b)always has awesome coupons. I'm sure I'll find something awesome, though.

I should probably post this now, since I've still got some work to get finished up and it's only about a half an hour until I go home. Or, I should say a half an hour until I leave here, stop by Wendy's and get some free Frosties (have tons of coupons to use up by the end of Monday), stop by the house and drop the Frosties off and get Dad, and go to the library. They finally have Zodiac available for me to check out a week before the Director's Cut comes out (yay!). I only put it on hold in July.
