So it kind of looks like I was going for the record for "most months without a post", doesn't it? I guess I just haven't felt like writing much. I've been reading LJ pretty much every day (keeping up with it, at least), and occasionally commenting, but I haven't had the energy to organize my thoughts into something long and post-able. I think

My problem with Inception fic is that while the premise of Arthur/Eames is that Arthur is irritated by Eames but also wants to bone him, a lot of fic either focuses too much on the irritation and not enough on the attraction, so they're suddenly having sex out of nowhere, or the fic tries too hard with the ~sparkling banter~ and they just end up sounding pretentious and dumb. Although perhaps I'm being too harsh, because I also got mad at a fic when it said that the average temperature in Los Angeles in the winter was in the 30s.

With regards to Inception, I pretty much stopped reading Arthur/Eames, mostly because of the problems you're having, and also bad characterization stuff. I've been mostly reading Arthur/Ariadne and team fic and whatnot. I'll read Arthur/Eames, but only if it's by someone who a) is on my flist (so I know I already like their writing), or b) whose writing I trust from past fandoms or Inception fic I read before everyone started annoying me with their wrongness.
And it's totally valid to get mad at people being wrong about easy details like the weather. 30 in Los Angeles, really?! *eyeroll*
